Hi I'm Andrew

I'm a student. I'm a sports enthusiast. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a student just trying to figure out what career path I should take. I love sports, they have been my passion ever since I was a very young. I particularly love the sport of basketball. I love watching and playing it. I also love music, movies and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the faith. My parents taught me the gospel my whole life. Although I was taught the gospel my whole life I had to come to my own personal knowledge that it was true. Through prayer and searching the scriptures I found out for myself that the church is true. I know that our Heavenly Father lives and loves each one of us. I know that his son Jesus Christ is my savior and redeemer and that through his atoning sacrifice we can all make it back to our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I live by faith by trying to obey the commandments. I also attend church every Sunday and participate in other church activities. I try to follow the saviors example by being kind to others and trying to be there for people who need my help. I will be dedicating my next 2 years to serving the Lord and the people of Texas.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Andrew
We need a Savior because we cannot return to our Heavenly Father without one. No unclean thing can enter into God's presence. Since we are all human we all mess up and sin. Because of Jesus Christ He made it possible that we can repent of our sins and be made clean again in the sight of God. Jesus atoned for all the sins and sorrow of everyone who has and will live on this earth! It is the single greatest event in the history of the world! Show more Show less

Who was Joseph Smith?

Andrew
Joseph Smith was a prophet of God! When he was a young boy he was confused and didn't know which church God wanted him to join. He knew that in Ephesians 4:5 that it said "One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism." He wondered why there were so many different denominations and interpretations from the Bible. After reading in James 1:5 he decided to go to the source and to ask God which Church he should join. God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ appeared to him and told him not to join any of the church's, and that they would call him, Joseph Smith to be a prophet! Through Joseph Smith the same church that Christ established while he was on the earth, was restored! By the power of God Joseph Smith also translated an ancient record which is where the Book of Mormon came from. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Andrew
Yes! We believe the Bible and the Book of Mormon to be the Word of God. The Bible contains God's dealings with his children in ancient Israel, the life of Jesus Christ and the Apostolic Ministry. It testifies as Jesus as our Lord and Savior! It helps us to know how He lived, and what He taught while He was here on the earth, and how He died for each and every one of us! It also testifies how he was resurrected after 3 days and that He lives! The Bible and the Book of Mormon go hand in hand and support one another in teaching and testifying to us about our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ! Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

Andrew
The Book of Mormon is a record of God's dealings with his children in the Ancient Americas. It shows that God loves all of his children, and that he would reveal His plan of happiness to the people in America just as he did in Jerusalem. It is another testament of Jesus Christ and testifies of Him as our Savior and Redeemer. It is convincing evidence of the Restoration through the Prophet Joseph Smith! If the Book of Mormon is true then Joseph Smith translated it through the Power of God which means that he was called as a Prophet. There is a promise in the Book of Mormon (Moroni 10:4) to anyone who reads it, ponders the message it contains, and then asks God with a sincere heart, will come to know through the power of the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon is true! Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Andrew
It is written by prophets who were called of God in the Ancient Americas. The record starts in 600 BC and concludes in about 400 AD. It is named the Book of Mormon, because one of the prophets Mormon collected all of these writings and put them together. Show more Show less
