Hi I'm Andrew

I'm an Idaho boy, I'm a Missionary, and I love to talk about Jesus.

About Me

I love going hunting and fishing. Anything outdoors I probably also enjoy. If I can't work with my hands, I have a hard time staying focused or paying attention, so working on old cars or trucks, and welding or metal work in general are some of my favorite things too do. I also love the company of my family or close friends. I am definitely a people person, which makes being a Missionary a whole lot easier.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are LDS and raised me as such. I investigated some other religions, but didn't feel comfortable in there. It always felt like something was missing when I would go to those churches, but I always felt the love of the people. I have learned since then that those other religions do not believe in modern day revelation, and I hold that near and dear to my heart. If you asked any other Christian if they wanted to hear the ancient prophet Moses speak, they would probably say "Yes". Well, Moses isn't around anymore, but we do have a Modern Day prophet named Thomas S. Monson, and He speaks to us at least twice a year. I love that Our Heavenly Father still wants to speak to us and has given us a prophet to do so. For some people it is hard to accept a living prophet, but as for me, I wouldn't trade it for anything. I know that our Heavenly Father loves us and wants to continue to speak to us, and that He does so through a modern day prophet. I know this to be true and hold it close to my heart.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a 2 year mission in the Nashville,Tennessee area, which means I go out inviting others to learn more about Jesus Christ, and learn about His Restored Gospel here on Earth. Other ways I live my life is by doing what Christ taught and that is to "Do unto others, as you would have done unto you." One thing I have no tolerance for is people taking advantage of others. I refuse to standby and watch someone either degrade or bully someone else. I also enjoy serving others. Helping those who either can't do something for themselves, or who don't have the time to do, are ways I love to help people. Like Christ said about doing unto others, I always enjoy helping someone in ways that I would expect to be helped in.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Andrew
Of course not! Christ taught "Do unto others, as you would have done unto you" and He also taught " Love thy Brother as thy self". Everyone who is on Earth is a Child of God, our Brothers and Sister, so why wouldn't we help them. I know for a fact that if I was in a tight situation I would want all of the help I could get and would look for a hand reaching out to help me. I have personally experienced being that helping hand, and have seen the look of gratitude in their eyes.I know the feelings I get when I help others are feelings of peace and love. I also know that those feelings are the Savior letting me know what I have done is right, and He is pleased with the choices and actions that I have made. So when I help others, it is because they are a child of God, not because they are Mormon, and that My Heavenly Father wouldn't expect anything different out of me. Show more Show less
