Hi I'm John

I grew up in Newark New Jersey. I have always know our Heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, yet a recent convert.

About Me

I am a single dad who values the time shared with my son. I love to travel anywhere, from cross country road trips to distant lands, alone if necessary. I love historical places, museums, natural beauty and people of all races in general. I am a recent convert to the church and continue to find it delicious to my soul. I borrowed that from Alma. I am so happy to be a member of the true church of Jesus Christ and enjoy our time shared in discussing all things pertaining to the Gospel. I have come through a life of struggles, made numerous mistakes, but this work of art is just that. With the Lord as the sculptor, I look forward to the finished product.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a testimony that could not possibly be written in two thousand characters or less. In short :O), I have been a believer all of my life. A member of the Catholic Church from birth. Very active at times and not so much at other times. I had many questions about my faith and the direction of my life. Like Joseph Smith, before I even knew his story at all, I asked our Heaven Father for answers repeatedly. This year, I was overwhelmed with a prompting. One I honestly disregarded or shrugged off as lunacy. It persisted and over the course of a single month became a primary focal point in my daily thoughts. It suggested I leave a job that was going very well, without knowing why and to travel by road to find what I was looking for. Everyone I consulted with thought I was crazy. My family members especially, since I could not explain why. I could not resist or deny it any longer. I quit my job. It was one of the saddest days. I abruptly announced I had to leave. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. The thought of driving to Alaska took over and I convinced myself that is what I had to do. While on this trip, I prayed and prayed for more answers. When I arrived in Salt Lake City I received the answer I was looking for. The knowledge of the Church of Jesus Christ. Utah was my Alaska. I headed back, believing I found what I was looking for. Since then I have been baptized and more. I was rehired at a higher rate of pay. Life is good! Trust in God and his promptings.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sabbath Day since I have some to know the church. Since my Baptism I feel completely connected. I have received the Priesthood and the Gift of the Holy Ghost as well as a calling to be a Ward Missionary. I have had the luxury of attending a community clean up in Liberty State Park with many members of our stake and hope to be able to attend more functions like this. It was good for our community to see us at work and my soul was definitely rewarded. I hope to be play a valuable role in furthering, cultivating and establishing this true church.
