Hi I'm Shelby

I have lived in Washington state for over 10 years, I have been attending school in Idaho for the last year and a half.

About Me

I'm Shelby and I'm 20 years old and am a junior in college studying psychology. I've lived in Washington State my whole life, but I've loved being in Idaho for the last year and a half.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been Mormon all my life, my parents took me to church every Sunday and I always participated in the youth group every Wednesday night. I always thought that this church was true since I was young, however the older I got the more I wanted to know for myself if it was true. The harder and more sincere I've prayed, I have always received an answer to my questions. When I listen to Prophet Thomas S. Monson speak at our general conferences, and when I read the scriptures I know that this is the true church. Jesus Christ has done so much for me, I just want to show my gratitude and love for Him by living my life the way he would want me to. I love this church and its teachings, I will follow Jesus Christ and live by His commandments so that I can live with Him forever.

How I live my faith

I was a teacher for a religion class while I was away at school, and now I am leaving to serve a mission in for 18 months in Arizona.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Shelby
Members who attend church on Sunday are most likely wearing their "Sunday best", for women this means modest skirts and dresses. For men this means suits and ties. Mormons celebrate Christmas and Easter, which are the most significant because of the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Members also celebrate the national holidays of the countries in which they live. We also celebrate birthdays, and anniversaries. Show more Show less
