Hi I'm Jason Rees

I'm a missionary serving in Tucson Arizona, and I'm a mormon!

About Me

So I just turned 19 in august (2012). I love to play Lacrosse and Rock climb. I have a mom and a dad, I also have an older sister and two younger brothers. I am now serving a 2 year mission in Tucson Arizona. It's hot down here, but I love it. I love talking with people about their lives and teaching them about our church and the gospel. I had to leave my family for two years to do this, but it is worth it.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason that I am a mormon is because to me, there is no other way to live. I grew up in a mormon family, but I only went to church because it was expected of me. I went because my mom and dad wanted me to go. I didn't really believe what the church was telling me. But a couple years ago I was going through a very tough time in my life. I was questioning everything and I wanted to know why certain things were happening to me. One Sunday my mom made me go to church, and I decided to actually listen. That day we were taught about the Book of Mormon. They were saying, "How do you know it is true?" Then the teacher said, it's like taking a test. you don't know the answers unless you have read the material and studied. They said that in order for me to know if it was true I had to actually read it. And not only that, but I then had to pray to know if it is true. So I did. I read the first 10 chaperts of it, then I got on my knees and I prayed to God, asking to know if it was true. I felt a little dumb just kneeling there, and right before I was about to give up and get up, I started to get this warm feeling in my heart. I prayed again asking God if that warm feeling was from him, and the feeling got stronger. After that I knew that the book of mormon is true. And because it's true, the church that was organized from it must be true. That is why I am a mormon today.

How I live my faith

Every morning I wake up, get ready for the day, then I go out into the world and share everything that I know about mormons and what they believe. That's what I will be doing for two whole years as a missionary. I absolutely love it! I want everybody to know how and what I feel, and what I've come to know through the church.
