Hi I'm James

I'm a Missionary, Served in the Army, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am currently serving a mission in the South Africa Cape Town Mission. Before my mission, I was in the Utah National Guard. I graduated from Utah Valley University in the spring of 2012, and plan to study at the University of Utah, working on my bachelors degree in bio-medical mechanical engineering.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon by my parents, but I really didn't believe it until I was out of the house on my own at my first semester of college. It was there that I really gained an appreciation for my Savior and for the atonement. When I was all alone and in some of my darkest moments, feeling like I had been abandoned, I learned that my Savior really does care about me, and that he really does want the best for me. My love for the Savior grew when I attended basic training, and it was there that I learned to love the Book of Mormon. That love has only continued while on my mission.

How I live my faith

Faith is everything for a missionary. Faith is how I am able to wake up each morning to go out and serve all those that are around me. I show my faith by what I do, by who I am. One of the ways that I live my faith is to look for simple ways to serve everybody around me. Another is to share what I believe with everybody, and to share my testimony and my love of the gospel with all, no matter where they are at in life.
