Hi I'm Chris

Serving as a missionary in Norway is awesome. Disney is my passion. Food fills my soul. I treasure life, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a college freshman attending Brigham Young University. I love music, especially singing and listening to jazz. I grew up in a family that goes on several vacations each year, including Disneyland each year. With that influence in my life, I have grown to have a strong wish and hope to work for Walt Disney Imagineering in California, to help design the rides and attractions in Disney Parks. I love adventurous activities--other than hiking--and enjoy being outside when it is somewhat cold. I live in a house with 3 of my sisters and my dad. My fourth sister is married and is expecting a baby this summer! I have learned that in life, continuing on in patience is the greatest lesson any of us can learn. My friends are some of the best people in the world, and I love them all dearly. I am currently serving a Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Norway, and I am absolutely loving it so much!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Gospel brings immense happiness into my life each and every day. I grew up in the Church as a kid, and have continued in the faith because of the blessings it brings. I know that the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ, is true and real scripture, written by Prophets of old, and was restored to this earth by Joseph Smith. The words written in it contain incredible stories of faith, missionary work, and blessings to the obedient people of the past. Like the stories in the Book of Mormon, I know that we will be blessed and will prosper if we just obey God's commandments and do what He asks of us. I know that prayer works, and is a real thing that each of us can participate in, receiving personal revelation for ourselves, and finding out what God wants us to do in our lives. I know that our Prophet, Thomas S Monson, is a true prophet of God, and holds all of the priesthood keys to help run our Church. I know that through the Atonement, we are able to repent of our past sins, and be forgiven if we have a change of heart and make that change in our lives. I am not a perfecet human being, and mess up every day, and I am grateful for the chance to be forgiven if I exercise the right faith. Another thing that is incredibly amazing that I know and am grateful for is the Plan of Salvation. Through it, we are able to be with our families forever, meaning I will be able to see my Mom again someday, and be with my family together. This Gospel is amazing and true, and I am a Mormon because of the greatness and blessings that it brings in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing several things all week long. Each sunday, I attend church at my student ward at BYU, and participate in sunday school and meetings there. Living in Utah, I feel extremely blessed to have so many LDS Temples within so short of a drive, and take advantage of it, visiting the Temple at least once a week with friends, or even by myself. I read my Book of Mormon nightly, as it helps me find answers to prayers I have offered, and teach me some of the Gospel principles. I also keep a daily journal, which helps me reflect on my day, and how to improve my lifestyle. Prayer is a key part of my life, as I try to pray every morning and night. In addition to the aforementioned things, I listen to wholesome music every day that is uplifting and edifying--it helps me keep the companionship of the Holy Ghost throughout the day, and have a positive attitude every minute of my life. Service is another way I live my faith, and I try to lend a helping hand whenever I can to those around me beit a friend or stranger.
