Hi I'm Mimi Rex

I am serving as a missionary in the San Diego California Spanish Speaking Mission the Mormon Battalion Historic Site.

About Me

I am a Mormon. I know it. I live it. I love it! I grew up in Brigham City, Utah. I am Peruvian and am very proud to be Latina! I am studying Early Childhood Education with a double minor in Latin American Studies & Dual Language Immersion at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I LIVE to dance! From Hip-Hop, ballet, contemporary, ballroom, to Latin dancing. I have a great family, two sisters and two brothers and parents that have raised me strong in the gospel. I also have lots of extended family and I really enjoy spending time with all of them. I am a very social person and really enjoy meeting new people. I always strive to live in a way that others will know and understand what the gospel of Jesus Christ means to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true and living gospel on the earth today. Joseph Smith restored the fullness of gospel and God's Priesthood authority to the earth through him. President Boyd K. Packer has written concerning our identity: “You are a child of God. He is the father of your spirit. Spiritually you are of noble birth, the offspring of the King of Heaven. Fix that truth in your mind and hold on to it. However many generations in your mortal ancestry, no matter what race or people you represent, the pedigree of your spirit can be written on a single line. You are a child of God.” We have been sent here for a purpose and it is to return to live with our Father in Heaven. I am a daughter of God. We all are potential Gods. I know that this is God's true church. Seek God out and pray to him for answers. If you have any questions about my faith I would challenge you to search, ponder, and pray. They are many members and missionaries that would love to answer any questions that you may have. Our Heavenly Father loves you and wants you to return to Him.

How I live my faith

At this time in my life right now I am serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Missionaries set aside their lives; school, work, social/dating life, etc. and leave home to go out and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is done out of complete service and we pay our way. For me it is an act of gratitude for my Heavenly Father for all that He has given and blessed me with. If it wasn't for two missionaries from the states that were serving in Lima, Peru I wouldn't be where I am today. They taught and baptized my Mother and her family there in Peru. The Lord has blessed me with so much and I feel that the least that I can do is give Him 18 months of my life to gather His sheep. I am on the Lord's errand and couldn't be any happier!

What is being a Mormon like?

Mimi Rex
Being a Mormon brings me true and everlasting happiness. We are just like everybody with the fact that life is hard and we all have trials and hard time, but with the fullness of the gospel we find strength and that true and everlasting happiness that I talked about through the atonement of Jesus Christ and through following God's commandments. We make and keep sacred covenants and do many, many things that do set us apart from the rest of the world. We are a great big community of people striving to help each other come unto Christ. As I follow God's will He blesses me and my life. When I am doing what is right that is when I am the most happiest. Show more Show less
