Hi I'm Kristen

I grew up in Las Vegas. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 21 years old, and I love the life I have been blessed with! I grew up in a family with 6 kids and we did everything together. My early life consisted of building forts, attempting to set world records, and camp-outs on the trampoline. In everything I did, my family was right there with me. I was involved in a variety of activities when I was younger because it was difficult for me to decide on something that I wanted to do long-term. After trying every extra-curricular activity I could think of, I eventually decided that what I wanted to do was dance. My mother was a dancer and my two other sisters also decided they wanted to dance. Throughout middle and high school, dance was my life. I attended competitions all around the country and spent hours at the dance studio. At these competitions, my sisters danced along side me, my mother and father cheered from the audience, and my brothers sped the time by playing their portable video games. Dancing has given me an outlet to express myself and reflect on who I am. It has given me more confidence and self-discipline. Since high school I have developed interests in hiking, baking, and boating. I attend Brigham Young University and am pursuing my bachelors degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Teaching English Language Learners. I love learning and enjoy collecting random facts.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because living the faith has brought me the greatest fulfillment and happiness. Every standard given and all the doctrines taught have saved me from the unhappiness so often found in living the ways of the world. By living my faith, I have come to know how I can recieve God's greatest gift to man. This gift is the ability to have eternal life through the sacrifice paid by Jesus Chirst, His son. As I choose to use this sacrifice and make promises to God to follow His son, I can one day receive this gift. Living the teachings of Jesus Christ is how I can show my love for Him and my appreciation for His sacrifice. The decision of how I live now will affect the happiness I can enjoy now and throughout all eternity. I have read the Book of Mormon and asked God if it is true. The answer I have received has brought so much clarity and purpose to my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by putting a consistent effort in trying to be more Christ-like. I am not perfect, but I know that my mistakes are what bring me the greatest growth. I attend Church every Sunday where I can renew the covenants I made with God at baptism and refocus myself for the next week. Church attendance means a great deal to me because it is a time where I can reflect on my personal relationship with the Savior and receive the guidance I need. I live my faith by submitting my will to Heavenly Father's. I do what is asked of me by our modern day prophet who tells the world what God would have us all know. In November 2012, I began serving as a full-time missionary. I was called to serve in the Kentucky, Louisville Mission. I will serve for 18 months. I live my faith in Kentucky by organizing and participating in efforts to bring others unto Christ and follow His example. I try to follow the Savior's admonition to become fishers of men and feed His sheep.
