Hi I'm Doug

I grew up in a small town in Alaska and know I live in Utah. I love to play sports and Im a mormon.

About Me

I love to play football and basketball. I like to hang out with my buddies and just have a good time. I am a 21 year old college student and i am studing psychology. I served a mission for the church in Ecuador for two years of my life. I come from a family where we are 4 brothers and 4 sisters and my parents. Eventhough we arent a perfect family, we have a lot of love for one another because we all have the same goal, which is trying to make it back to the presence of out Heavenly Father together as a family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know that is where my Heavenly Father wants me to be. I never had a life changing moment because I was born into the church, but it has been a process that has helped me understand what God's purpose is for me and what my potential is as his son. I have prayed several times and have always received the same answer through the prompting and feeling that the Holy Ghost has given me that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. Nothing can ever take away or change the answers that I have received from my Heavenly Father

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always looking for opportunities to serve others. I was also able to serve a mission for two years of my life in Ecuador. I am always studying in the scriptures to now what my Heavenly Father would have me do that day and I can get live a better life. I always try to put into practice what I learn. I strive hard to live the commandments and to repent when I make a mistake and to try to be better the next time.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Doug
The best way that I can think of to get to know God is through learning and keeping his commandments. Once we keep his commandments he blesses us with the things that we need in this life and we grow to understand that he really does love us and is aware of the trials that we pass through in this life. We understand more that he is our Father and that we are his children and just like we give rules to our children to keep them safe, he gives us commandments so that we stafe safe in this life from the physical and spiritual dangers that in this world today.
