Hi I'm Zach

I'm from Mesa Arizona. I love being outside. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived all over the United States and graduated High School in Arizona 2 years ago. I enjoy running, wakeboarding, ping-pong, mountain biking, hiking, spending time with family, being with friends, and being outdoors. I ran track during High School. My favorite events were the 400m, long jump, and pole vault. My plans for the future include attending college at Brigham Young University and becoming a lawyer. I am currently serving a mission in Santiago Chile!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many reasons. I was born into a family that belonged to this church, and as I grew older I learned more about it and eventually came to the realization for myself that it is the true church on Earth today. I have read the Book of Mormon and felt the Holy Spirit testify to me that it is a true account of God's dealings with His children on the American continent. I know that the prophet Joseph Smith was inspired of God to translate the records given to him, and that through his faith and diligence to the commandments of God, he also restored God's true church to the Earth in our day. I know that Jesus Christ lived and atoned for our sins so that we could have a way to repent and return to live with God again. I am so greatful for his infinite Atonement and mercy. He has provided a plan for us to come to Earth and make choices for ourself so that we can learn and grow to become more like Him. The knowledge of this gospel is the greatest blessing I have in this life. It teaches me exactly who I am, why I am here on Earth, and where I will go after I die. I know that anyone who reads the Book of Mormon with an open and accepting heart can come to the same knowledge that I have come to find. They will find great peace and security in the arms of their Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by how I treat others everyday. I do my best to live how Christ would want me to live. He is my best example, and as I try to emulate His attributes I feel closer to Him and find it easier to live His gospel. Right now I am living my faith by serving the Lord as a missionary for His church. This includes leaving my family and friends, learning a new language, working hard from 6:30 A.M til 10:30 P.M, and doing all that I can to bring people to strengthen their belief in Christ.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Not at all. We worship God the Eternal Father and His son Jesus Christ. We believe Joseph Smtih is a prophet like Moses or Abraham who was chosen by God to bring His church back to the Earth after a period of wickedness and apostasy. Show more Show less

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints celebrate Christmas and Easter in remembrance of the Birth, Life, Sacrifice, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. We try to focus of the Christ during these times, but also use the Symbols Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny to teach children before they are old enough to understand to full meaning of the season. Members also celebrate national and cultural holidays depending on where they live. While attending church, we show our respect for God and His Son Jesus Christ by dressing appropriately. Men typically wear suits or white shirts, dress slacks, and ties. Women usually wear modest dresses or skirts. We do not judge or deny participation because of dress. Show more Show less
