Hi I'm Sheilani

I graduated with my BS degree in English. My dream is to become a writer and editor of children's books. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to write all kinds of pieces including lyrics, music, poems, novels, and even short stories. I have a passion for nature and all that live within it. I am adventurous and love to travel to new places and try new things. I am going back to college for my Masters degree in education so that I can teach what I love. I play the guitar and ukulele, and I am learning to play the piano better. I love music. I love children. I love animals. I love God.

Why I am a Mormon

I have my own individual testimony of this church and I know without a doubt that this is His true gospel. I am a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ and in His atonement. I believe in His teachings and parables that are accounted for in the Bible. But there is another book in which I know is the most correct among any other. It is the Book of Mormon. I have read, and continue to read, the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. I know that the words and teachings in this book are true. I know because I have felt His love while reading it. I have felt joy and peace and know that the Holy Ghost is confirming to me that it is true. I choose to keep following His plan because it is what He has asked of me and all of His children to do. I know that I am a daughter of God and that he helps me realize my calling in life and that I am truly loved with a love that is incomprehensible to us at the time. I know that the Savior, Jesus Christ, gave His life for me. I am protected by the Holy Ghost when I am doing right. Although there are some things that I do not understand yet, I have faith enough to live those commandments because it keeps me safe from harm, it keeps me worthy, and shows Him that I trust and love Him. I know that I will see God the Father and Jesus Christ again and I do not want to fall down on my face in shame, but have Him tell me that I have done well. I love Him. I love this gospel. That is why I choose to follow it.

How I live my faith

I have two callings in the church. I am first a primary teacher, and teach the children 5-6 years of age. They are the cutest little children I have ever known! My second calling has to do with the LDS missionaries. I remind the bishopric to write the missionaries monthly letters and then I have the privilege to mail them. I also participated at our local institute of religion on the lunch committee and serviced 300-500 people every Thursday to a very cheap meal. I am also a member of the service committee at the institute. I love being involved in helping others! There is no greater joy!
