Hi I'm Abby Poston

I'm a missionary, a friend, and have no sense of direction.

About Me

I am an Arizona native, born and raised. Of all the places I've been, the beauty of the desert is still my favorite. Behind the cracked or dried twigs, underneath the brown or dirty colors associated with the desert, are living, thriving, and marvelous creations. I like that the beauty is less obvious, thus making us examine each object more closely. Besides the gospel, two things that bring me great happiness are clothes and people. This combination makes for a killer retail sales lady, and that's exactly what I am.Everyday I look forward to my job where I make just above minimun wage sorting through clothes and interacting with the wide array of customers who come into my store. I have four brothers, who are my greatest influence and one sister who is my greatest inspiration. Anytime with my family is my favorite time. I am currently serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Fresno California mission- speaking spanish. Until starting on this new journey, I couldn't have imagined the joy and happiness I've felt while forgetting myself and focusing 100 % of my time on others. Everyday I feel myself coming closer to my Savior. Truly, I am the person I am today because of my faith in Jesus Christ. He's molding me one step at a time and I am grateful for that.

Why I am a Mormon

I've chosen to be a Mormon because it's a church of joy, of peace, of perspective, and of progression. I know that I am divine daughter of Heavenly Father and this knowledge alone gives my strength. The fads, pressures, and traps of the world no longer have a pull on me. I have come to understand that my Heavenly Father has infinate power to mold me into ten TIMES the kind of person I could ever become myself. I also know that I can help others attain the same level of comfort and happiness by acting on the promptings of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being obedient to my leaders and teachers. I know the priesthood is God's power and authority given to man so I trust the advice and counsel given by those who are led by it. I teach Sunday school every week for the young single adults my age, and have recieved more joy from this responsibilty than any other I've participated in.
