Hi I'm Cindy

I grew up in Orlando, Florida. I love to paint and referee recreational children's soccer games. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Senior in High School. The first three years of my high school, I have been the only LDS student at my school. I am very involved in the Art and Theater program at my school. This is my fourth year of advanced art classes and I am taking AP Studio Art. I also play percussion in my school's symphonic band. I am planning on going to college to major in Graphic Design and minor in Photography. I am in the National Senior Beta Club and am an Honour Student. I like a lot of Indie and Folk music. I have a part-time job of refereeing young childrens soccer games for the Recreation Department in my community.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it gives me a reason to be happy every day of my life. I can recognize and feel the happiness it has provided my life with every day. I've chosen to be a member of this church because I know that it is the only way I can not only feel, but I can fully understand these happy feelings from reading the scriptures, being uplifted by the local ward leaders every week on Sundays, and praying every day and night. The church has wonderful reasources that lessons and teachings are based upon that come from our worldwide leaders. I am constantly reminded that I have a purpose on Earth, that I have a Father in Heaven and an older brother Jesus Christ who love me unconditionally, that I have individual worth. In the world we live in, it's easy to forget such blessings, so every acknowledgement of personal divinity counts in my life. Through church events, meetings, and organizations, there are countless ways to learn and feel the Holy Ghost. This is a church worth living righteously, worthithly, and happily for.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a leader in the youth program in the church. I am the leader of the girl of the ages between 16 and18. Because I fall in this age range, I am able to create an environment between the other girls that is friendly and commonplace, because I know what it is like to be a young woman in the world today. I know I can depend on myself to be the best example I can be for them and the other people I come into contact with at school, work, and other public places.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Mormons are held to certain standards. We live a drug and alcohol free life. We refrain from using swear words or gossiping. We partake of clean and upligting media such as music, movies, and events. We do not partake of pornography or anything sacreligious of the human body. We show major respect for our body by weraing modest clothing, not getting tattoos or excessive piercings , and living the Word of Wisdom (a health code that the chruch practices that I mentioned a bit in the previous content.) We are taught to always be honest and live a virtuous and abstinent life. We try to lift others up and to be a good example for everyone. Show more Show less
