Hi I'm Kelsey Hirschi

I study biology and love learning about life! My sisters are my best friends; my parents are amazing, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love learning; there are so many things I don't understand yet that I'm not sure that I'll ever have time to figure it all out! But in the mean time I am almost done with my undergraduate work studying biotechnology, and I'll begin graduate work later this year. Someday I want to participate in research to help find treatments for genetic disorders, and I discovered on my mission that I love teaching. I think I would like to share the knowledge I've gained and help others learn to love learning too! I love reading, swimming, horseback riding, music, being outside, and any combination of those things with my family. I am the oldest in a family of four girls with amazing parents. My understanding of the gospel and how families can be together forever was a huge motivation for me in serving a mission and sharing the gospel. I find so much happiness in knowing that I can live with my family forever, and there is no better way to show the Lord my gratitude for everything I have than by sharing that happiness with others!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I am grateful for the sacrifice of my ancestors so that I can have the gospel. As I have studied and come to understand the plan that Heavenly Father has prepared for us I have gained a testimony that living the gospel is the way that I can be happy in this life and return to live again with my Heavenly Father. I know that I make many mistakes and am far from perfect, but I also know that Jesus Christ made it possible for me to repent and be forgiven. I know that the knowledge of this plan of salvation was restored to the earth by the prophet Joseph Smith, and that President Thomas S. Monson is the prophet living on Earth today. I am so grateful for the restored truths found in The Book of Mormon and I know that we have a loving Father in Heaven and a savior who helps us to become more than we could ever be on our own!

How I live my faith

I've discovered that how I live my faith is most often in the little daily actions I take to bring me closer to my Savior. I make an effort to study The Book of Mormon and Bible and pray daily so that I can have a good relationship with my Heavenly Father. It is wonderful to learn form the faith of others and to be able to share my love for my Savior Jesus Christ. I know that when we make an effort to "come to Christ" He is ready and waiting for us. He is with us the whole way through any trial or challenge we may deal with and He will never leave us alone.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Kelsey Hirschi
As a missionary serving in the "Bible belt" I have gained a great testimony of the truths found in the Bible. I know that as I study the word of God I can know the things that I need to do in my life to bring me closer to Him. I am also grateful for the additional knowledge and clarifying truths found in The Book of Mormon and from a living prophet- President Thomas S. Monson. As I study from the scriptures I find great peace and happiness and I know that Heavenly Father speaks to His children today just as He has throughout history. Show more Show less
