Hi I'm Becca

I'm from Boston. I love sports, music, food and having fun. I am a missionary in the Colorado Denver North Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student, sister, daughter, and so happy! I love being outdoors, hanging with a good group of friends, spending a Sunday afternoon with my family, and being active. I am the oldest of six kids and have been raised by amazing parents who I love dearly. I'm from Massachusetts, just south of Boston, but I've been living in Utah for the past two years while going to school. I attended a Catholic high school where I played volleyball and basketball. Music and food complete any day for me. I am currently serving a mission in Colorado Denver North.

Why I am a Mormon

True happiness is my main goal in life, and His church brings that into my life. Nothing brings me more happiness than when I am doing His will and helping His children. Heavenly Father loves each and everyone of us so much. It amazes me that even though I am one out of billions and billions of people, He cares so much about my life. He wants us to be happy: "...men are that they might have joy" (2 Nephi 2:25). He cares enough to answer my prayers, comfort me when I feel low, send angels into my life, and so much more. He sent His only Begotten Son to live and die for us, but I know if I was the only one needing saving He still would have made His atoning sacrifice. I matter to Him and I know this because of what this gospel has taught me and continues to teach me. I am a daughter of a King, a daughter of God. The Church is like a family, no matter where I go it is always the same. I am a Mormon because I know for myself that this is the true Church of God. I am a Mormon because nothing else can make me as happy as living His standards, keeping His commandments, and helping those around me find this same happiness.

How I live my faith

As a non-member friend once said, "[We] are a people who live our faith everyday; it's not just something [we] do on Sunday." Being Mormon is more than just going to church, praying, and reading our scriptures, I live my standards and show what I believe by how I act each and every day. I have found that the most effective way to learn is through observing others, so what better way to teach than by example. I live my faith by how I treat those around me, by serving others, by standing up for what I believe in, and the list goes on and on. I have been an active and fully invested member of this Church forever. I have held multiple leadership positions in my different classes. But one of my favorite ways to live my faith in the Church is being a Visiting Teacher. Being able to focus on two or three girls specifically and becoming their friend has been such a joy in my life. Taking care of those around me is not just something that is expected of me, but rather a privilege and a blessing. Forgetting myself and helping the sisters around me has strengthened my testimony and helped me to become more like my Heavenly Father. I live my faith everyday through everything I do....

In whom should we have faith?

Becca
We should have faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ! Faith is not a perfect knowledge of things, but hope for things which are not seen which are true. The one and only way back to our Father in Heaven is through our Redeemer, Jesus Christ. He is the way, the truth, and the light. By having faith in Him we can follow His example through this sometimes rocky journey and return safely home to our Heavenly Father. Even faith the size of a tiny mustard seed can bring about great things! I know that as we love, serve and have faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ we can conquer any mountain placed before us! Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Becca
My favorite thing about the Mormon faith is that we do not only focus on those of our own faith. Most of our efforts are actually aimed at helping those who are not Mormon. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I am asked to serve all those around me and help them come unto Christ. The Church now has over 75,000 missionaries serving world-wide. These missionaries are out to help those who are not Mormon. We help all those in need just as Christ would if He were ministering on the earth. I am grateful for the opportunities I have to serve those in my community and help them in any way I can. The Gospel of Jesus Christ can help everyone no matter what their circumstances are!
