Hi I'm Troy

I grew up in northern Utah. I love woodworking and the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the fifth of six children. I enjoy cycling, woodworking - especially wood turning, hiking and being outside, I also love driving. I am on a mission in Bulgaria right now. I studied at Utah State University before leaving and plan on returning afterward. I was and plan on studying civil engineering. I love physics and math. I really enjoy music as well. I was in my school's chamber choir and I took piano for a number of years. I love listening to how others express themselves with their instruments.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, my family is all members. However, I have my own opinions and my parents let me decide for myself if I was going to continue to go to church. I know this church is the true and through it I gain more knowledge of life and how I need to live to be happy. I know God and His Son, Jesus Christ, love us. I know that Joseph Smith saw Them and restored Thier gospel to the Earth. I know this because I have studied it. I've prayed and asked God if it is true. When I did, I felt piece and confidence. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now I am called to serve the people of the Bulgaria Sofia Mission as a missionary. That includes all of Bulgaria. I am sharing the Gospel with the people of Bulgaria and while I do that will have an opportunity to serve them in other ways as well. Before my mission, at college, I was a Sunday school teacher to other students. I also had the pleasure of meeting with and talking with some people in my ward each month and helping them with anything that they needed. Whether that be needing something fixed or just encouragement.

What do Mormons believe about family?

The family is the basic unit of society here on earth and in heaven. We believe that we can be with our families forever through restored priesthood authority and power. I love my family and want to be with them forever. In our families we can find our best friends and our best counselors. We can find our greatest joys in life as we create and are active in our families. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

"We believe in God, The Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost." We believe God and Jesus Christ are separate personages. He has a body of flesh and bone, perfect and glorified. God is the Father of our spirits and the ruler of the universe. Because He is our Father, He loves and knows each one of us individually. He wants to bless us, but that requires our obedience to His laws, the commandments. Show more Show less
