Hi I'm McKell

I'm a Mom. I'm a Runner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm McKell. I love to run long distances. I like a challenge. I like to try new things. I have two children, ages 1 and 3. My kids are super cute and fun! It is a lot of work being mom, some days I am so exhausted by days end. Luckily, my husband is a huge help and, I love my kids a TON, so it ends up all being worth it. My three greatest accomplishments: 1) Being married for time and all eternity to my husband, 2 & 3) My kids! I love my family. I love to learn... especially about history, nutrition, and human biology. I also love to read, hike, play games, and go on family vacations.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because of the peace and happiness it brings to my life. I have faith in Jesus Christ and in God our father. Sometimes faith comes easily. I know that as I faithfully strive to follow Christ, he blesses me, and as I acknowledge his hand in my life, my faith grows more. Sometimes though, my faith is tried. There are some times when I have to make a conscious choice to keep believing. Sometimes I am searching for answers and as I wait on the Lord, I wonder if he is really there. But I KNOW, he is there! God always answers our prayers, because he loves us! Sometimes we have to keep moving forward, though our way is dark. But I have found, as I continue to walk by faith, I am unexpectedly/ incredibly blessed! I can no longer doubt. I am a Mormon, because I know God is the head of this church (the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!) I have felt his spirit testifying to me that this is truth. I love being a Mormon. I love the direction it gives to my life and the hope and joy it brings to me. I love that being a Mormon teaches me how to be a good mother. I believe in the promise of temples, and in eternal families. I am so grateful for this testimony!

How I live my faith

I believe we are endowed with God's power as we follow his commandments, and do the daily tasks that are so simple but require continual, diligent effort. Reading my scriptures, saying my prayers, and acknowledging the Lord's help in my daily life brings peace and happiness. My kids and I enjoy going to the senior center in our neighborhood weekly to see our "grandparent friends". It is fun to brighten up their day, and I feel like we are completely repaid in their generous compliments. I try to teach my kids to serve as Jesus Christ would.

What is being a Mormon like?

McKell
Being a Mormon is a way of life. It is a life clean from addictions and pure from the stains of the world. We believe in being virtuous, honest, chaste, in doing good works and serving those around us. We go to church for three hours every week, serve in callings, and commit to personally studying God's word, through the scriptures and modern day prophets. We are a group of people who support and love each other, and always strive to lend a hand when needed. We believe in being happy and following the example of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
