Hi I'm Jared

I'm oldest of five brothers. I am in school to become a dentist. I love playing basketball and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy being out and active! Any kind of sport or activity that will help me get away from the everyday stresses, I'm there. Being a college student and working can be stressful as most people may know; so we have to have an out. Basketball has always been a stress reliever for me. I can go out and shoot for hours on end. I also love football, bowling, and snowboarding! I just wish I had more money to do it more often. My wife is amazing, and I love her to the moon and back! I have the best of friends, hands down. My family means everything to me...I couldn't ask for better parents, and my four younger brothers are all studs!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because the knowledge and understanding that comes with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is undeniable. I have come to know for myself, independent of anyone else, that it's teachings and doctrine are Christs'. The Bible is read throughout all of Christianity, yet it is interpreted differently and has lead us to many different ways to believe. The Book of Mormon is another witness of Jesus Christ and His divinity. I have read The Book of Mormon and it has strengthened my belief and conviction of Christ. I know that he is my personal Savior. It is because of The Book of Mormon and it's doctrine that I have such peace in my life. In the recent years I've come to know that it's okay if we make mistakes and fall short. Our Father in Heaven knows that we are imperfect people. That is why He sent Christ to Earth, to atone for our sins. So we might have the ability and opportunity to learn from our mistakes, ask for forgivness and get up and move forward. I am so greatful to know that God has a plan for my success and has provided me a way to return and live with Him. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet, a mouth piece for God. He was the instrament used by our Heavenly Father in restoring the fullness of His Gospel back to the earth. God has always spoken to his children by the means of prophets all throughout time. I believe that He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Therefore, I know He continues to speak to us through living Prophets.

How I live my faith

I'm an active member in my local church. I served as a missionary for two years in the Oklahoma, Tulsa Mission and loved every minute of it! I have been an instructor in a number of capacities in my church. I have taught Sunday School to adults, young adults, as well as teenagers. This opportunity allows me to increase my understanding of the gospel, reach out to others, as well as improve my communication skills. I've also held several responsibilities in the past where I have planned and organized youth conferences for multi-congregation activities and other events.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

This question is sometimes reffered to as a question of the soul. Everyone has or will ask the question when someone close passes away, "Will I be able to see them again?" The answer to the quesiton for us as members of the church is yes. Before Christ was crucified he gave Peter the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, that whatsoever he should bind on earth should be bound in Heaven, and whatsoever he should loose on earth would be loosed in Heaven. He and the other Apostles were the governors of Christ's church and were givin His authority. When the Apostles were killed, the authority to bind on Earth and in Heaven was no longer present. We believe that that same authority and power to bind on earth and in Heaven was brought back to the Earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Families can be bound together forever, this is made possible because of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We do not worship Joseph Smith. We revere him as a Prophet of God, just as the Jews revered Moses as a great Prophet. We only worship God our Eternal Father and His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. We talk a lot about Joseph Smith because he was the the Lord's instrument in restoring the church back on Earth. I do love and admire the Prophet Joseph Smith for his dillignece and sacrafice; however, he can never take away my sins and bring me back to my Heavenly Father. There is only one person who makes that possible, and I am indebted to Him. Show more Show less
