Hi I'm Larry

I've lived in Texas most of my life except for the time my dad was in the military. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a sales specialist in the Printng/Graphics industry. I'm married to a beautiful, wonderful woman who is not a member of the church. We have a son, she has a daughter from a previous marriage and I have 2 daughters from a previous marriage. We were both teenagers in the late 50's and 60's and love the music from that era. We love to camp and fish and like to watch our favorite Texas teams in football and basketball and just anything we can do together.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in another faith but I had a yearning to understand my relation to God. I had a lot of questions about Jesus Christ and many things in the Bible but I didn't get the answers I needed from the churches I visited. I started reading the Bible to get those answers and I spent a lot of time on my knees in prayer. Being a traveling salesman, I stayed in a lot of Marriot Hotels. In each room there is a copy of the Book of Mormon so I began reading it and immediately, I knew that it was the word of God. I received a warm comforting assurance that it was. This was the Holy Ghost speaking to me. The Book of Mormon is just what it claims to be, another testament of Jesus Christ. I have not missed reading from the scriptures a single day in almost 20 years. The more I read, the stronger the affirmation is that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the one and only church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. We have a living prophet who is called of God and not by man. I'm a member of this church, because I freely choose to be a member. The principles and doctrines are solid guidelines to happiness and joy no matter what the trials and troubles are in daily living. I never feel like I am deprived of anything. Quite the contrary, I feel enlightened and supported by a loving Father in Heaven Who is always guiding me and teaching me. I know without reservation that Joseph Smith, as a 14 year old boy, saw God the Eternal Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I was a member of the LDS Church before we were married, but I was not an active member. I returned to activity quite a few years after we married. Even though I'm the only one active in the church, it has brought great blessings to me and my whole family. I've become a lot closer to all of my family because I believe in the principles taught in the church. I look forward to Sunday meetings. It helps me recharge my batteries so I can deal with the tasks in the coming week. In my calling I love to go hometeaching with my companion. We help a lot of families that are struggling and that makes everything worthwhile. My wife and I are closer than ever as a result of my activity in the church. Even after 31 years of marriage we're more in love than ever.
