Hi I'm Michael Brown

I grew up in New Mexico. I am a student studding Electrical Engineering. I am a husband and a father. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father studding to become an Electrical Engineer. My interest in Electrical Engineering came from my love of computers. Since my family got its first computer I have spent hours and hours playing with them, taking them apart, and trying to understand them. Much more important to me, however, is my family which continues to be my driving force. Throughout my life I have been taught that the greatest joy one can have comes from a family. Of all my achievements, I consider establishing a happy healthy family my greatest. It has always been my desire to be a husband and a father and I can tell you it is my greatest joy. Nothing has been more rewarding then this.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was taught from a very young age how to choose what is right from what is wrong. As I have grown up I have learned that this is really a choice between bring happy and being sad. My parents always said happiness is a choice. Being in the Church has greatly helped me to make these choices. My understanding of Christ's Gospel and his plan for me has led me and continues to lead in my quest for happiness. I know that these things are true, because I have tested them, I have lived them. What better way to know something is true then to test it yourself. I know that there is gravity. I cannot see it, but I see the scars on my knees and elbow from falling. I cannot see that the Gospel is true but I can see how I am a better person because of it. This testimony which is my test of This Church and the Gospel it proclaims has come from a life time of trial. I could not believe it if I had not lived what I have lived. I know from the first part of my life that I am a better me because I am a Mormon, and I know I can be the best me I can be if I continue to be.

How I live my faith

I have learned that I cannot live my faith one day a week. It is a daily process. It starts and ends with a prayer every day. During the day and at night I take time to study Gods word and pray for understanding. I also attend a school church class at the Las Cruces Institute of Religion. On Sunday I attend church which consists of three one hour blocks. In the church we receive responsibilities called callings. Mine is the Ward Mission Leader. My responsibility is to see that missionary work is done in the ward. I do things like call members to go out with the full time missionaries and find ways to help new members learn the Gospel. It has been a challenge to me that has really helped me to grow and become a better person. My participation in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints has been the Highlight of my life. I look forward every day to my time to study the scriptures. It brings meaning to everything I do. It has made Christ the center of my life.
