Hi I'm Suzy Bushman

I love music. I love food. I love my friends and family. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm in high school. Cool beans. I love music, as previously stated, and I take voice lessons and piano. I don't even know! I'm just your average teenager. It's legit!

Why I am a Mormon

Why WOULDN'T I be! It's the real deal! I was born into the church (so grateful for that) and my parents have always encouraged us to follow it's teachings. I love the church because everything they encourage you to do is basically deciding to be happy and being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous and in doing good to all men. (Little 'Article of Faith' excerpt there...) When you think about it, it's pretty much everything that humanity finds inherently 'good' in the world. Have you BEEN to Utah? Or even heard about it? Pretty much, everyone there is crazy sweet. But more than just that, I love the idea of a modern prophet and that we are STILL receiving revelations, even personal revelation! I can feel that it's true. There's not a doubt in my mind that it is the true Church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Every morning before school I got to early morning seminary where we basically just have this little Sunday school lesson to start off your day. It may sound horrible and no, I am not good at waking up. In fact, I hate waking up, but I would wake up whenever as long as I could go to seminary. It improves my mood three hundred percent right at the start of every day. Can't get enough. I dress modestly and don't use vulgar language. We have youth activities on Wednesdays where we pretty much just do some super fun activity to become better people. You can't go wrong! I go to church every Sunday for three hours, but it doesn't feel that long. I love every moment of it. Once every month we have Testimony meeting where we can go up and talk about how our faith has grown. I can hardly stop myself from going up every time! It's amazing. I love it all.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Suzy Bushman
Tithing is used for a bunch of stuff to help members of the church and also non-members who need it. We use it for building Temples and maintaining them along with chapels. It's NOT used for paying prophets or bishops or anything because all callings are volunteer work. The church also uses it for when there is a natural disaster or something to help everyone they can. They said after hurricane Katrina that the two organizations that helped the most were the LDS and the Mormons. Classic! Show more Show less
