Hi I'm Preston Hayes

I am from Lehi, Utah. I am a outdoors enthusiast. I am serving a full time mission in Montana. and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the gospel and my Savior Jesus Christ. I plan on going to aviation school to become a professional pilot along with getting a degree is business management after my mission. I love anything outdoors especially mountain biking, rock climbing, and four wheeling.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but never really gained a testimony for myself. I went to church and participated but mainly because my parents wanted me to not because I wanted to. Everyone around me had a testimony and I just thought they were crazy. Later I made some mistakes that I regretted but I didn't really know how to solve on my own. I tried to forget and move on but it continued to bug me. I silently prayed in my heart for help not really believing that anything would come of it but a few months later I received my answer and since that time I can honestly say I know and believe in God and Jesus Christ. They heard my prayers even when I wasn't doing those things that I should have been doing. At that time I decided that I would serve a mission, where as previously it was hardly a thought. Since leaving on my mission my testimony of the gospel has increased immensely I have already had so many wonderful experiences in the short time that I have been out. There is no better way to gain a testimony than by serving others.

How I live my faith

I am serving a full time (2 year) mission to serve the people in the state of Montana. There I hope to share the light and joy that Christ has given me with those who are in need of it.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Preston Hayes
Our time on Earth is the time for us to prepare to meet God and perform our labors in coming unto him. We come here to gain a body, to learn and grow from our experiences by exercising our agency to choose between good and evil, and to form family relationships as well as help out our fellow man. We prepare to meet God by living his gospel which is exercising faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement, repentance, baptism by immersion, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. The gospel of Christ isn't a one time thing we must continue to live it through out our lives and continue to come closer to him through prayer, scripture study, church attendance, and keeping the commandments. What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Preston Hayes
Scriptures are one of the ways in which we can receive revelation for ourselves. If we have questions or things that we are seeking guidance with, than by reading our scriptures it shows our faith and that we are sincere enough to take action. When we do that god allows the holy spirit to guide us to our answers and or leave impressions in our minds through our scriptures or by some other means. As we "feast" upon the scriptures we will gain knowledge and receive personal revelation. Show more Show less
