Hi I'm Steven Bunnell PhD LCSW

I solidified my testimony of Jesus Christ while attending a Catholic University . I would love to share my story. 801 455 4113

About Me

I speak a little Navajo. Served an Indian Mission. have a PhD. from a Jesuit University. I have made a lot of mistakes. A big one that cost me my first marriage which I regret very much. I facilitate addiction recovery groups for Life Star. I have 8 children and 25 grandchildren. I tried to be retired but it is not working out. I have two jobs in addition to the recovery groups I am running. I am a licensed clinical social worker. I have been diagnosed with Parkinson's but try not to let that define my life. I have a story of the atonement I would like to share with anyone open to a conversation. Through my life's experiences I have come to know that nothing can happen to us that is not in our best interest if we choose to see it that way (See D & C 122) And my my value in God's is never diminished no matter what. My behavior does not determine my worth in God's eyes. He loves me because of who I am but because of who He is. I would to talk with you as one recovery sinner to another. We all need the atonement.

Why I am a Mormon

I received a PHD at Gonzaga a Jesuit University in Spokane Washington. During a class at Gonzage a lay member of the Catholic Church with a PhD in World religion presented model of that he thought would create a perfect religion on earth. The model fit the Mormon Church perfectly. Another faith builder was book entitled The Bonds That make Us Free by Terry Warner, a philosophy professor at BYU. Quoting: “Who we are in the present moment is the sum total of the meaning we have attached to the events of our lives. In other words we made ourselves up out of fantasy. “ See D & C 76:94 We need to see ourselves as God sees us. Through the gospel of Jesus Christ we have the opportunity to give up that fantasy and become nothing, a blank canvas or a clean slate. It is like we are born again. See yourself as a 4 year old with 60 years of knowledge and experience. It is time to give up your past and allow the atonement of Jesus Christ take place in your life. Forgive yourself, your past and all the evens of your life. We could look at each one of the events that have given us meaning take them one by one and see yourself standing before the Savior and hear Him say, “Steven, I suffered that one for you so you can let it go.” Let them all go. The savior has paid the price for each one of those. suffered for each one of those. We have suffered enough. I bear witness to the world that the atonement of Jesus Christ is real. I feel it in my bones today.

How I live my faith

The following scripture is what I consider to be the key to making applied religion work. D & C 45 Let thy bowels also be full of charity towards all men, and to the household of faith, and let virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly; then shall thy confidence wax strong in the presence of God; and the doctrine of the priesthood shall distil upon thy soul as the dews from heaven. 46 The Holy Ghost shall be thy constant companion, and thy scepter an unchanging scepter of righteousness and truth; and thy dominion shall be an everlasting dominion, and without compulsory means it shall flow unto thee forever and ever. I wish I could live this perfectly. I am addicted and week, but look to the atonement of Jesus Christ to get me strength. Ether 12:27 "If men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. ai gave unto men weakness that they may be humble. And they come unto me and have faith in me I will weak things become strong."
