Hi I'm Johanna

I'm a photographer, graphic designer, blogger and mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

First and foremost, I'm a mother. My little one brings me more happiness than I ever imagined. That's probably because I have a husband who supports me in every way. I'm also a photographer and graphic designer. Because of those interests, I feel like I was born to blog. And that's what I do, at My Life as a Mormon (dot) com. I see beauty and symbolism in the small moments of life. I love color and nature and art in every form. I hate creepy insects but I also hate to see them squashed. I'm a terrible health-foods chef, but I keep trying. I love to sing to my baby, read imaginative literature, and rearrange my furniture. I'm on a mission to try as many Diners, Drive-ins and Dives as Guy Fieri has reviewed. In my heart of hearts, I think sailing is the sport for me, though I've never been. In a nutshell, I'm a California girl at heart, a photographer by education, a designer by experience, a full-time mother by choice, and a Mormon by faith.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it just feels right. It's a pattern of living based on service, love, forgiveness and progression and it's a beautiful way to live. The happiest, most Christian people I've known are members of the LDS church. I'm a Mormon because I know it's true. I have found joy and peace by following the teachings of the Church, which are centered on Jesus Christ. The book of Mormon is an example of simple, undiluted goodness and inspires me in my goal to be like Jesus. The leaders of the Church are good people who have devoted their lives to the Savior. Their messages help me to find direction, comfort and excitement in life. The people I attend church with are trying to be moral, honest people and create love and goodness in life. It is wonderful to be with them and learn with them about Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon because I have had so many prayers answered, so much peace and so much inspiration, I could never deny that's it's true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by studying it and sharing it. I blog about my beliefs because there are so many confusing voices in the world, I want to speak up for goodness sake. I live my faith by serving my family everyday. My goal is to make life more meaningful and beautiful for others and to have a home where everyone who enters feels loved, safe, and inspired. I live my faith in my heart. I want to become a little stronger every day and follow the word and example of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
