Hi I'm Julianne

I grew up in Idaho. I love sports, music, and the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying to become an elementary school teacher. I work very hard in my school work in order to get good grades. When I'm not too busy studying, I love playing sports (mostly basketball and volleyball), four-wheeling in the mountains, watching movies, and my all-time favorite: white water rafting. I also love fishing and traveling, and thanks to my fisherman grandpa, those two usually go together. I have been to quite a few different places for fishing trips, including Botswana and Guatemala. I love spending time with my family and am lucky to be able to do so often

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in an active Mormon family, and I have never really known anything different than being a Mormon. I learned at a very young age that the gospel was restored to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith, and I was able to develop a testimony of the truthfulness of this church. Even though I had always been taught these things, I decided when I was a teenager that I needed to receive my own witness that the church is true. I had been taught in Sunday school that the Book of Mormon was the keystone of our religion, so I knew that if the Book of Mormon is true that the church is true. I decided to read the Book of Mormon all the way through for the first time. It took me quite a few months to get through it, but I learned so much. And when I was done, I got down on my knees and asked God to let me know for myself that Joseph Smith was a prophet and the Book of Mormon is true. I don't know how to describe the feeling that I had after that, other than to say that it was overwhelming. I know that Heavenly Father was telling me that I had already known these things and that I was right to act on them. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. It is another testament of Christ, written for us and our time. I know that Heavenly Father loves each of us, as individuals. I know that if we pray to Him, He will answer our prayers and show us what we need to do to return to His presence and live with him eternally.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always working to make myself a better person. I study the scriptures (The Book of Mormon and The Bible) every day because they are God's words written for us. I am always working to strengthen my relationship with Heavenly Father by praying to Him all the time. I know that He knows me and hears my prayers. I participate in the church on a local level by accepting any call from my leaders. Currently, I am serving as a missionary for the church. I have been called to serve in the Tahiti Papeete mission. There, I will teach others about the gospel of Jesus Christ and its teachings, in the Tahitian and French languages. To me, this is the best way I could possibly live my faith; I am putting my trust in the Lord as I leave behind my family and my normal life, to help others come closer to Christ. I have felt the joy that the gospel has brought into my life, and I want to help others to have this joy in their lives.
