Hi I'm Parker

I grew up in Colorado. I love snowboarding, playing basketball, and music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family consists of two sisters, two brothers, my parents, and my two dogs. My older sister is one of my best friends, and I love my little sister to death. One of my brothers is an adopted Chinese boy with a minor case of spine bifida. He is 16 years younger than me and he is the coolest. I am a dog lover, especially of my two golden retrievers. My parents are so supportive, they help me accomplish so much. I will take every opportunity to go snowboarding or camping I can. Basketball is my favorite sport, I love playing and improving my game. I play some guitar and I love music! It can bring life to anything. I listen to all sorts of different music, most anything with acoustic guitar probably being my favorite. I am an eagle scout, and a graduate of high school, and I am currently serving as a missionary in the Oklahoma Tulsa Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the gospel. However, I really wasn't sure what path I wanted to follow. I just went to church because I was supposed to and it made my parents happy, but at an important point in my life, right before my senior year of high school, I met a friend who changed my life. After I met her, I started to think more about what the Gospel meant to me. I began to analyze what all of my friends and the kids around me were doing, and the more I thought about it the more wrong it seemed. I realized the church principles were the best standard to live by, and they were actually something I wanted in my life. I am so grateful to my Heavenly father for helping me by putting great friends in my life. I know God watches out for us, and He wants what is best. The Atonement of Jesus Christ is amazing. No matter how this life turns out, all our losses will be made up if we try our absolute hardest to follow Christ. God helps us as much as He can, but we have to make a personal decision on how we want our lives to be. A lot of people think living the Gospel is hard purely because the Gospel is different, but when you look at what will happen if you don't follow the standards, it is clear that life could be much harder.

How I live my faith

I live my faith now by trying my best to show people the respect they deserve and looking for opportunities to help people. I also try to have a more positive outlook on things.
