Hi I'm Karissa

I'm a wife and mom, my two favorite titles. I have 2 puppies. I love fashion. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and mom first and foremost. My two favorite titles to be called. Being a mother is so fulfilling and while I am young, I take the responsibilty seriously. Marriage is the most important step I have ever taken in my journey called "Life". I love being married and enjoy creating memories with my husband. We struggle, my husband is a college student. But we enjoy the struggle and it makes for some laughter and tears which I wouldn't trade for anything in the world. I enjoy shopping & all girly things. I love pedicures and massages, I like MAC makeup & sparkles. I am an avid TV watcher; I love reality shows like Bachelor and Survivor. I want to some day go on the Amazing Race. I love my two Shih Tzu puppies Jack and Izzy. They are balls of energy and I love taking them on walks and playing fetch. I am a transcriber for Mormon Historical Sites Foundation and I love that job. It is not only providing the church with history, but the world. My hope is that some life will be changed by transcribing some sort of historical piece of our church's history. Many people might not think I've done very much in my 22 years of life; I've not travelled all over the world, I've not even graduated college yet but I have a fulfilling, wonderful and peaceful life that I wouldn't trade for anything else.

Why I am a Mormon

Being Mormon to me means peace. It's knowing that I have my family with me for time and then eternity. It brings a sense of comfort and security. This life is not meant to be travelled alone. It is already hard and unfair at times but it's knowing Christ is always there for me, always willing to say "Try Again". I mess up a lot in life, I am not perfect and knowing that the Savior says that he will make up for all my short comings, my insecurities, my unkind actions is such a feeling of deep comfort. I am Mormon because it makes sense to me. In my heart and in my head, I know that this is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday. I don't believe in "days off" of living the gospel. I try to show my faith by my church calling. I really enjoy my Church calling which is Sunday School teacher to 16 & 17 year olds. I try to be an example to my class. I try to always be kind to others. Kindness is the best medicine. I try to be an example and give advice to my younger siblings. I try to be an attentive and compassionate wife and mother. I attend church every Sunday & also try to bring the spirit of patience and peace to my home. I do not hide from answering questions about my church or testimony of why I believe.

What is the Relief Society?

As women, we take on a lot of responsibilities. Whether you have a career, you still have household duties, children to look after, meals to cook. In this age of trying to have it all, it can become overwhelming and exhausting. Relief Society is a church organization to support one another, no matter where you are in life- school, work, family, friends. Women talk and learn how to support and give advice. We try to look out for not only the women in our organization but give service to local and worldwide organizations. We try to focus on loving and not judging others. The world judges women much too harshly as it is and we try to buoy up women and what we can become. Show more Show less
