Hi I'm Rachel Hatton-Ward

I was born in California and have lived in Germany, Maryland, and Utah. I graduated from Snow College. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an adventurer! Hiking, biking, climbing, falling... I love it all! As much as I enjoy the outdoors, I also like to read, write, and play video games. I've always had a love of learning, especially science. Throughout the years, I've thought about being an astronaut, a paleontologist, or a highway patrol officer, and I found out from hands-on experience that those are all fun choices! I got my Associate of Science Degree from Snow College in 2011, and I'm planning to go to the University of Utah to get a Master's Degree in Computer Programming. When I grow up, I'm going to make video games! In the meantime, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, working, and going to school.

Why I am a Mormon

My family are all strong members of the church, so I grew up with that influence in my life. Going to church, saying prayers, and reading the scriptures are all second nature to me, but just like everyone I had to discover for myself that this church was true. When I went to Snow College, it was only about 2 hours away from home but I realized that there was no one telling me to go to church on Sunday or read my scriptures every night before bed. However, I continued to do those simple things, and as I did I realized my faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ was increasing, and that I did know for myself that these things are right. I know God has a plan for me, that this is Christ's Gospel again restored on the earth, and I LOVE being a member of this great church!

How I live my faith

I have been a member of this church my whole life, so I've always gone to church pretty much every Sunday, but I find that the way I really live my faith is in the everyday things I do. Saying my prayers and reading the scriptures every day help me remember to keep an Eternal perspective, because I know that God is mindful of me personally, and He wants me and my family to someday return to Him, where we can be together forever.
