Hi I'm Ileana Pria

I love being in the sun, playing in the rain, and laughing until my sides hurt. (:

About Me

I was born and raised in Georgia. My parents are from Romania and Venezuela, and Spanish was my first language. I'm majoring in Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech, and loving it. I like playing soccer, ultimate frisbee, running, and basically doing anything that involves being active and usually being outside. A good game of Hide and Seek never gets old, either. I used to be a fanatic about playing my cello, but it's been a long time since I've picked it up. I will go back to it one day.. I love the sound of a cello. I find myself laughing at anything and enjoying any time I get with my friends. I would do anything for them! They mean so much to me. I'm not perfect and I have plenty to improve on, but I'm doing my best to always stay positive and to be happy with everything life has to offer. There's always reason to smile! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by my neighbor when I was 12 years old. I honestly didn't care for the idea of church or even the existence of a God for another few years afterward. However, I did see something different in the people that were there as I attended occasional activities with my neighbor/now close friend. I saw this light within them that I had never seen in any group of people before then. I became curious as to why they were always so.. happy. So, I finally began to listen to the things they spoke about. I learned about Christ, what He did for us, and the immense amount of love God has for us. I had no idea why it all sounded so familiar, so comfortable.. but I soon knew it was true. Once I recognized God's hand in my life, I couldn't deny how sure I was of His existence and His love for us. On my 18th birthday, I was baptized. It was by far the absolute best decision I've ever made. I am the only member of my family in the church. It hasn't been an easy road to where I am today, but I wouldn't change it for anything. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the most important part of my life. A few years ago, I never thought I would hear myself say, "I love being a Mormon." But I do. It means everything to me.

How I live my faith

I try to be a positive example because of my testimony in Jesus Christ. I know that I would be the total opposite of who I am now if it weren't for the gospel in my life. I now see the best in people instead of their faults. I love looking at people and knowing that they, like me, are children of a god who loves us all so very much. I long to share with everyone the thing that brings the most joy into my life, because I know it could do the same for them. For this reason, I am currently serving an 18 month mission in Bulgaria. I live my faith by loving people I meet and keeping my testimony close to my heart. I know I have plenty to improve on, but without God's guidance in my life, I would be so lost on my own. I'm thankful for how far I have come and for where I hope to go in my future. I am most thankful for such a loving God who stays by my side through the thick and thin.
