Hi I'm Donald S Bell

Grew up in Boise, Idaho area, now living in Singapore. I build websites for fun and profit. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My hobbies are woodworking, music, and internet web sites. In woodworking I have a large shop where I create and build jewelry boxes, trinket boxes, and keepsake boxes. In music I was the conductor/commander of an Army Band. I am the father of eleven children (one is a girl). All the children are grown up and living on their own. The two youngest (twin boys) are currently in College. I used to enjoy camping, but now, when I'm in the USA, I live in the camping areas. We have 10 acres of forested land where it very, very quite. In the winter we have some snow - that's why we have a 4WD tractor with a 5 ft. (1.5 meters) snow blower. We enjoy traveling in our RV.

Why I am a Mormon

I always believed in God and in His Son, Jesus Christ, but I always felt there was something I should know that I was missing. I wasn't even sure what it was. I did know I wasn't doing too well on my own and I needed more specific guidance in my life. When the Mormon missionaries answered the questions, "Where did I come from; Why am I hear; Where am I going?", I could "see" a part of the puzzle of life that could set me on a path to knowledge and peace. Where I was stagnant before, I am growing and learning now. I can feel close to my Father in Heaven and actually receive advice and knowledge from him because I received the Gift of the Holy Ghost after my baptism by one having the authority to perform that ordinance. I have been ordained to the Priesthood (as all worthy male members are) which allows me to function in the ordinances of the gospel (such as baptizing, confirming to the Church of Jesus Christ, bestowing the Gift of the Holy Ghost to an individual, blessing and passing the sacramental water and bread, administering to the sick, giving blessings to my family and those I teach in their homes, and being a lay minister/leader in the Church). I have been sealed to my family for all time and eternity by one having the God-ordained authority in the Priesthood. I have received clarification of the Gospel in the Temple of the Lord. The gospel I have been taught has helped me be a better father and husband by teaching me the correct precepts of leadership. I am not perfect, but I am more Christ-like as I study and apply His gospel.

How I live my faith

I am the assistant Country Website Administrator for the church in Singapore which gives me a chance to help maintain a website. The website helps viewers keep in touch with local news and events, and with church leaders' messages on living the gospel. I assist in leadership with the adult priesthood meetings. We teach and discuss the gospel and plan activities. I really enjoy this time I have to meet with my gospel brothers. They are such wonderful men, dedicated to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, their families, and to the community.
