Hi I'm Chris Stevenson

I have always been a member of the Mormon Church.I run a family business that helps people with family history.

About Me

I grew up in Provo, Utah with three sisters and no brothers. When I was young, I thought that having only sisters was a curse but when I became a teenager and started dating I realized that it was a blessing. I found that I got along with girls well and enjoyed being with them. I loved math and science in school. I took a computer programming class in 1973, before computers were common place. It was back in the day that there were only main frame computers (no personal computers) and in order to write a program it had to be done on punch cards. I loved programming and almost chose that for my carrier, but I wanted to work with my Dad in the family business that he started more. So that is what I do and I have never regretted that decision. I went on a mission to Nagoya, Japan for The Church in 1975. It was difficult to learn the Japanese language, but I loved serving the people of Japan. I loved their integrity and their family values. When I came home from my mission, I met my wife, Mary Williams, because she was working for my Dad in the family business. We dated and were married in 1977. We were blessed with seven wonderful children, five boys and two girls. We loved going camping and hiking together while they were growing up. We currently have 14 grandchildren and I love telling them stories. I discovered in December of 2005 that I have stage four Non-Hopkins Lymphoma and went through chemotherapy. I have responded to the therapy well and have enjoyed good health since.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love my Savior and know that he died for us. The Atonement is real and we can repent and be forgiven for our many sins. I love the scriptures and know that they are form the Lord. I am grateful for the prophets who sacrificed so much so we could have these wonderful words from God.

How I live my faith

I have served in the church in many different ways. I have been involved in scouting from cub scouts to scouts to explorers. I loved being a Cub Master. It was so fun to be silly with the boys and watch them learn and try new things. They would get so much joy from expanding their life experiences. I love teaching and currently I teach the adults in my ward.
