Hi I'm Kyle Nielsen

I am studying Medicine. I am a 2nd lieutenant in the US Army. I'm an avid canyoneer. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be outdoors, whether that means mt. biking, backpacking, canyoneering or just riding my dirtbike. Most the time I though I am trapped in the library studying. I have an undergraduate degree in Genetics and Biotechnology and am currently studying medicine to become an Army Physician. My freinds and family would tell you that I am an adrenaline junkie who is always ditching school for the next adventure into the backcountry.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe it. Every word of it; Gold plates, angels, prophets, new scripture and modern revelation. All of it. Literally and completely. Earnestly and whole heartedly.

How I live my faith

I have found that my faith has constantly enhanced my desire to learn. It has increased my curiosity for the world at large and augemented my capacity to understand my secular studies. My study of science has increased my faith, while at the same time, my faith has increased my love of science. Contrary to what many would suggest, I have found they are not mutually exclusive but actually mutually reinforcing. Both approach the same problems from differing angles. Science answers "how?" while religion answers "why?" I live my faith by recognizing the divine potential that exists in each and everyone of us and then by attempting to treat others with the love and respect which that entails.
