Hi I'm Joyce

I worked as a registered nurse before changing my career to stay at home mom when our first was born. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I worked as a registered nurse for five years before becoming a mother. After my first child was born I chose to be a stay at home mom. Money was tight with only one income, but the Lord blessed us to be able to do it. My husband and I had children in our home for 30 years--from the time our first one was born until the sixth and last one left for college. It has been gratifying to see my children turn out to be upstanding citizens. I enjoy my grandchildren. I like to spend time doing family history research.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a child I believed the Church was true because my parents and teachers taught me it was true. But as a teenager I wanted to know for myself that it was true. By living the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ and praying to know the truth of it I received a personal knowledge from God that it is true. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and want to follow Him. I know He is God's son and the Savior of the world. Studying the scriptures daily and having daily personal prayer and serving others helps keep my testimony strong. This gives me peace and joy in this troubled world.

How I live my faith

I have had many callings in the Church. I have been President of the children's organization, the young women's organization and the women's organization in my ward as well as teaching in each of these organizations. I am currently the ward family history consultant. I am a visiting teacher in my ward assigned to visit and watch over four specific women. I visit them at least once a month and help out whenever I am needed. I was a 4-H leader when my children were young. I have helped for several years with voting in national and local elections.
