Hi I'm Lindsey

I grew up in Placentia, CA. I married Brandon in the Newport Beach Temple and I work at Wells Fargo. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am one of six children in my family. Life got a bit busy, loud, and crazy at times but I have so many wonderful memories with my family. I played soccer throughout my childhood, and walked around the house singing and annoying the rest of my family :) High School was tough but I survived and now I am working on continuing my education at the local Junior College. I met Brandon at combined activity between our two wards (or congregations). We started dating, I knew he was the one very early on, and eventually married him in the Newport Beach Temple. I am a newlywed and enjoying every minute of it!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of this church and have always loved it. When i was twelve i decided i wanted to take this into my own hands and not just believe it because my parents did. So i read The Book of Mormon every night, all the way through, for the first time on my own. When I was reaching the end of the book i read some scriptures that encouraged me to ask my Heavenly Father directly whether it was true. When i prayed and asked if it was true, nothing happened, i was disappointed at first but then a thought hit me. "You already know this is true. You've lived it your whole life and seen the blessings it brings first hand! You already know." So i changed my prayer. Instead of asking, I began to tell my Heavenly Father that i knew He was there. And i told Him that I knew this church (His church) is true. I could barely finish those thoughts before I could literally feel my heart start to grow and swell. It felt like my heart was about to burst with this new feeling, the feeling of the Spirit, of joy. I was crying and my body was trembling, I felt overwhelmed with comfort. It's hard describe an experience like that. The words don't do it justice. But I love my Heavenly Father and I have felt Him beside me ALWAYS, as i go through my life. If you are wondering, I encourage you to take a leap of faith and know this for yourself :)

How I live my faith

At church my husband and I teach a small class of 4 and 5 year-olds, where we teach them about Christ, and the importance of making good decisions and being honest and kind and things like that. Throughout my youth I've done many service activities such as helping put on an annual dance for special education students at a local highschool, putting together first aid kits and survival essential kits for those affected by disasters that happen around the world, and various clean up and park service activities.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

There is nothing secret about Mormon Temples, however there is something sacred about them. There is no secret about them because i can tell you right now what we do in them. We are baptized in proxy for those of our ancestors who have passed on with out baptism. I have gone many times in my life to do this. I walk down into the warm water where a friend is waiting for me, i close my eyes and bow my head as they say a special prayer and then I fall back into the water and come right back up. Baptism :) Baptism for a relative in the temple is a special experience that cant be felt anywhere else. Secondly, I've been married, or "sealed" in the temple to my husband Brandon. And let me tell you, that is the biggest blessing I have ever received in my life. Well, actually, I'm not sure if its the Atonement or the Sealing but those two are the biggest blessings in my life.
