Hi I'm Lacey

I am a photographer; a wife of a kind, smart, loving man; and the mamma of a sweet, hilarious, little girl.

About Me

Hmmm, what do you want to know about me? Well, I am addicted to running because of the endorphin high that always follows, I am simultaneously frightened and intrigued by great white sharks, I grew up riding horses and still love the way they smell, I am the wife of a kind, smart, loving man, and the mamma of a sweet, hilarious, little girl. My roles as a wife and mother come first, and I love to capture my favorite moments with my family through photography. I run a small photography business and I love the constant challenge of trying to improve my skills. I am originally an English major (but please don't judge my writing now), and love to read lots of books! I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Baltic countries of Latvia and Lithuania, where I learned to speak Russian. I still speak it a little. It comes in handy now and again. My faith has guided every decision in my life and has made me happier than I could have ever imagined.

Why I am a Mormon

While I grew up in Utah my whole life, my parents did not take me to church. I chose to go on my own, usually attending with friends or my grandparents. At first I went just because my friends were there. But as I grew older, my testimony also grew, and in time I came to know of the truthfulness of it all. I prayed and asked Heavenly Father if it was true, and more than once He has confirmed it to me. While my family does not go to church, they are very supportive in my decision to do so, as well as when I decided to serve a mission for my church. I married a man who shares my same beliefs and we now attend church together and with our daughter each week. Being married in the temple has brought a great measure of peace to our home and helps us be better spouses to one another. So, to sum it all up, I am a Mormon because over time, I have come to see the goodness and peace that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints brings to my life. I am a Mormon because by being so I have been able to develop a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. The principles and guidance I glean from the church have shaped my life to be something better than it ever would have been otherwise. I am so thankful for this blessing in my life.

How I live my faith

For several years now I have taught the 16 and 17 year olds for one hour each Sunday where we learn from the scriptures. I thoroughly enjoy interacting with a young, fun, energetic group of teens and I think I learn more from them than they do from me. I try to help them apply the things we learn from the scriptures to their lives. Being a teenager these days can be hard, but with the knowledge we have from the scriptures, the prophet, and other sources, these kids have guidance to help them live good, fulfilling lives. I love serving in the church because helping others makes me happy.
