Hi I'm Bria

I served a mission in California, Got married in the temple to my Best Friend, I'm a mormon

About Me

I am 23 years old. I love to play soccer and any other sport. I love Taekwondo, and am very close to my black belt. I am a very active person but don't have the best health, but I try not to show it by working hard such as helping my family and serving the Lord. Before my mission I was going to college in Salt Lake City studying Physical Education and Teaching Education to become a PE teacher and soccer coach for high school and eventually coach college and professional soccer. I would like to have my own Taekwondo academy later on. I was waiting for a missionary, who is my high school sweetheart. He was serving in Japan. He chose to wait for me for these last few days of my mission. It took almost 3 years till we saw each other again. We left each other for a time to serve The Lord so that we could be together for eternity. The Lord always comes first. I have sacrificed those days of my life being away from my sweetheart and my family to let him serve the Lord and so I could have the opportunity to serve my own mission for the Lord. I know that the missions we served have blessed our families we have now, our future families and the rest of our lives as we live what we have been preaching and continue to preach even after our missions. I loved my mission and I wouldn't give it up for anything in the world. I am now married to that boy that waited for me and our life couldn't be any better... Except for maybe a baby haha.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was born into a great family that is Mormon. But more than that. I can decide for myself who I want to be. I have rebelled in my life and strayed away from the Mormon culture but when I found my way back I realized that there is nothing like the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I always feel home when I am part of this great gospel. I am more happy when I try to follow the gospel the best that I can. I know that only through this gospel and through the priesthood that has been restored we can be baptized by proper authority and recieve the Holy Ghost and be sealed to our families for all eternity. Being with those I love is most important to me and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only way that we can be with those that we love forever. That is what makes me most happy and I want to show others how happy it has made me, that is why I am going to serve a mission. I am a Mormon because I know that I can help others learn about the happiness that this gospel has brought me. I have seen it in others and I know that I will continue to see it in them as I continue to find, teach and baptize.

How I live my faith

I used to be a ward missionary in my ward before I left for my mission. I was also the assistant music director for sacrament meetings. I was in a young single adult ward and loved participating in all the activities and meetings. Now that I am serving a mission I love reading "Preach My Gospel" and learning all about the attributes of Christ and how I can be a more effective missionary through living the attributes that Christ also has. Everyday I sing the song "I'm trying to be like Jesus" because that is what I am striving to do. As I teach people about the restored gospel I have the opportunity to help them improve their lives and feel the Holy Ghost in their lives to help them have a desire to become baptized. I have learned how to love those that I teach and as I do I am also learning how to raise my own family in love and happiness. I have learned how to follow the commandments more fully and have noticed the blessings I recieve as I obey. I have learned a lot about sacrifice from being apart from my loved ones and I am excited for the day when we all will have the opportunity to be runited one day just like we will when we return to our Father in Heaven.
