Hi I'm Hillary

I'm a new mommy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived most of my life in Southern California. I have attended 3 colleges and am working towards a Bachelors Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. I met my husband and got married in 2009. I have since put my education on hold when my husband and I decided it was time to start a family. I currently teach piano lessons and enjoy being a stay-at-home mom. I enjoy physical activity, grocery shopping, cooking/baking, eating, and spending time with friends and family. I love being a mommy and I am trying to be a good wife and mother.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both born and raised in the church. I was baptized when I was 8 years old. I have chosen to continue to follow His gospel throughout my life. I love the power of Christ's Atonement and Sacrifice for us all. I learned at a young age the basic principles of the Atonement, but they have become more applicable to me as a result of certain experiences I have been through. I was in a terrible car accident a few weeks after graduating from high school. I was immobilized and broken physically and emotionally. It was that point that I gained a testimony of the true power of knowing that Jesus Christ had felt everything that I was feeling. I know that He suffered for my pains. If nobody else knew what I was going through, He did. There is power in prayer. I relied on Him through faith, and as a result of my faith and others around me, I am completely healed. I am not perfect and like everyone have made mistakes. Another purpose of the Atonement is to enable us to repent for our sins and continually reroute our course in the right direction. I truly have an appreciation for the gospel that has taught me that there is a way to start with a clean slate. Our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ in their great mercy know that we are imperfect, but they love us so much that they prepared a way for us to continually repent in order to fulfill the demands of justice, and be exalted and happy forever. I have experienced that happiness, and try every day to be a better person. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth. I know he saw our Savior and Heavenly Father. I know that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God and that we can draw closer to Him by reading it. I know that President Thomas S Monson is our living prophet today and that he leads this church in the way that our Savior would if He was here. I know that families can be together forever and as a mom I have a new appreciation for that. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen

How I live my faith

I am involved with the Young Women in our ward, specifically the 12-14 year olds. I help plan and attend activities, and I teach lessons on Sundays based on gospel principles.
