Hi I'm Heather

I grew up in the Seattle, WA. I am a happily married mother of 10, raising horses and dogs for a living. I am a Mormon

About Me

I am the youngest of my parents' 4 daughters, raised in Kent, Washington. We were a 4-H family (showing horses and dogs), and also musical (I play jazz trumpet). I went to Europe with my high school jazz band! I came to Utah for college and got married at 18. I had 3 children, and then went through a divorce after 10 years of marriage. I am now happily remarried to the man of my dreams, and I inherited 5 step children. We now have two more "ours" children.. 10 total! We love life! We raise gaited Missouri Foxtrotting horses and Malamute, Weimaraner, and Great Dane dogs for a living. We love riding our horses in the mountains, hunting with our dogs, and most of all we love spending time with our children, teaching them to be hard working, honest, fun loving, kind and gentle people. I still play my trumpet now and then, and also picked up the guitar about 10 years ago when me and my 3 sisters started a bluegrass band. I love to sing country songs and play the guitar. I am still going to college via independent study classes and plan to have my degree in a few more years. After having experienced a very hard marriage, and now being so blessed to enjoy marriage to my best friend and partner, hubby and I are passionate about helping our children marry wisely when the times comes for them. We know that marriage has the potential for the most pain, but also the most happiness of any other relationship on earth! I am so grateful for my happy marriage!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I sincerely believe the doctrine this religion teaches and I have found the greatest happiness in my life when I live according to behaviors and principles taught by Christ himself. I believe that the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's own gospel restored to the earth by visitation of the Father and Christ themselves, after the truth had been lost from the earth over the years following Christ's crucifixion. I believe that God's priesthood power, and living prophets, exist today the same as they did in Biblical times. God is the same yesterday, today and forever.. and he speaks to His children today the same as he always had throughout the history of this earth! Therefore I find solace in this gospel, with faith in God's own living Prophets and apostles who hold the keys and authority to speak for God to us in our day! Personally, the truths of the gospel speak to my heart and soul as if I knew them already. I believe that we were with God before we came to earth, that we came here to gain a body, organize our family units, and prove ourselves in this testing ground. I believe that we will return again to our Father in Heaven who loves us each individually and knows our needs. I have personally felt God and His Spirit in my life, guiding me, directing me, answering my prayers, and blessing me with SO much happiness! I know that He lives, I know that he knows me and loves me. I know that He knows my individual passions and loves to help me succeed even in the "small" things of life. I trust that God always has my best interests and happiness in mind, eternally, and therefore I want to follow Him and seek to do His will. I believe that this church really is endowed with His power from on high, and that it truly teaches us the truth of what God wants for and from us. It provide a framework in which we can draw close to our families and learn to develop our own personal relationship & communication with God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith mostly by trying to live my life as Jesus Christ would have me do. I am honest in my dealings, I seek to uplift, support and show love to all those I come into contact with. I love people, and see us all as God's children, none better or more important than another.. and therefore I have great respect for people from all walks of life. I feel that I can learn from anyone I meet. The most important things I do for my Father in Heaven are being a wife and a mother. I hold my relationship with my husband as the ultimate most important relationship I will ever have and believe strongly that God wants us to make our marriages our highest priorities in life! I believe and plan on my husband and I being together for eternity! I can't imagine a Heaven without my best friend, partner, spouse and lover by my side! Second only to my role as wife, I believe my role as mother and step mother to our amazing kids is the most important calling in my life, and that is the way God sees it. My husband and I, and our children, all work together to take care of our home and cook meals, we see these "homemaking" responsibilities as belonging to the whole family (not just the mother). My hubby and I are equals in all things, and while I look to him as the head of our household, I never in any way feel subordinate or less powerful or important in personal, couple and family decisions. I feel like I am leading this family with my best friend by my side as my partner and equal in all things! It is a glorious way to live and it brings me so much happiness! Our family attends 3 hours of church meetings each Sunday where we learn and preach of Christ and His gospel and how we can all grow and improve in our lives to be more like Him, and to return to Him and our Father in Heaven as an eternal family unit someday. We encourage each other to dispel contention from our lives and practice forgiveness and charity towards all mankind.
