Hi I'm Austin

I'm a student, a volunteer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised around Salt Lake City. I come from a mixed family, with three brothers and four sisters. My family means a lot to me. I like to take pictures while hiking, and I love music. I love trying new things, and pushing my limits. Right now I work part time, school full time, and every chance I get I am involved in activities and organizations. Service is a huge part of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised going to church, but I continue to be part of it and really invest myself in it now because I have gained a testimony of its truth. I have read the Book of Mormon, and I have found for myself that it is the word of God. I love that book. I know that through it you can get closer to God, and that comes from my personal experience. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer, and I am grateful for Him. I know that God answers prayers, because I can see how God answers my prayers, almost on a daily basis. I have seen that when I live as God wants me to I find peace, enlarged perspective, and real lasting happiness through friends made, experiences had, and service rendered. I am happy with who I am, and where I am going. I am able to live a life without regret, and without fears because I know in whom I have trusted and I live by that.

How I live my faith

I try to teach others by my example. I hold tight to my beliefs, and I try to live my life in a way that would bring honor to God and my family. Whenever I am available, I put myself in a position to help others. I live my beliefs not just by going to church, or reading scripture, my goal is to live as a disciple in the small everyday things.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

I have to say the biggest thing for me is the peace. It seems to enter into my life like sunlight comes through a crack in the door. When you make your way to it's source, you can find light and warmth. I feel like that describes my experience with the Holy Ghost. When I really seek it, by putting myself in a place and a state of mind to show that I really want to be closer to God, it comes as a natural result. The Holy Ghost can give us guidance, and help us understand things in more meaningful ways, and always brings an almost sacred feeling of recognition for who you are and who you can become. He can only remain with us when we have been made clean by the atonement of Jesus Christ. Sometimes in those moments of feeling his presence, you will feel like you are meant to do something. As you follow through with those spiritual nudges, you will be able to look back and see the hand of God in your life, and realize like I have that He is in the details of our lives, always helping us to live out our life's real purpose.
