Hi I'm Mary

I grew up in Orem Utah. I am a veteran of the United States Army. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Mary and I am proud to be a Mormon. I spent seven years of my life serving in the United States Army and was deployed to the Middle East during the 9-11 terrorist attacks. I have earned two bachelors degrees and am currently working on my masters. When I am not doing homework I am working with firefighters, paramedics, and police to ensure they receive a good education. I experienced four years of marriage and two years of divorced life. I love getting outside to go camping, traveling, or a great hike. Through all the joys and trials of my life I have kept the faith and become the person I have always wanted to be.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon family and was taught these principles all my life but I did not live by the faith of my parents forever. I went out and discovered just why I wanted to be a member. I made many friends of other faiths when I was in the military. I asked them questions about what they believed and even attended church with them. While these other churches had good teachings, nothing felt as complete and right as the Mormon church. I knew where I needed to be and what I believed and I have not looked back.

How I live my faith

I am currently attending a family ward as a single member. I have found great joy in meeting and befriending the families that live in my area. I am currently the ward music chorister and director. I place myself on the stand each Sunday with joy on my face and a smile for my ward members. I also serve as a member of an activity board. This is a chance for me to plan fun activities that bring the women of the church together in friendship.
