Hi I'm Dixie Davis

My husband is Sammy Davis, Medal of Honor recipient. We encourage duty, honor, country and faith. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I joined the church 12 years ago. I lost my husband in 2000. I remained a widow for 5 years. Then Heavenly Father saw fit to use me in a different way. I met and fell in love with a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient. I retired from the interior decorating business and now travel the country with him as he speaks about God, Duty, Honor and Country. I have one son who is LDS and he has 6 children. I have 3 step children who have 9 children between them. So between our 15 grandchildren and traveling we really keep busy. I love to do needlework which comes in handy while sitting in so many airports and spending so many hours aboard planes.

Why I am a Mormon

My introduction to the LDS church was in 1997. Many of the LDS beliefs were those that I was raised with, except the Book of Mormon. It just all made sense to me. However, I thought I needed to know everything before I could commit to join. Only as time went by did I realize that a little is given at a time. When I understood one thing I was given more. That continues even today as I learn more and more. The more I comprehend - the more excited I become by the gospel. I am happy to belong to the same church that was established by our Savior himself when he was on the earth. I believe we are led by a modern day Prophet. When we look at the troubled times in which we live, it makes sense that we need our Heaven;y Father's guidance more than ever. I have found true happiness in being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

As we travel and are in the midst of many strangers we always ask people to join us for prayer before our meals. People appreciate this one small thing that we can do to remember and give thanks for our many Blessings.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Dixie Davis
No one person can tell you that Mormonism is true, you must find out for yourself. If you pray with a sincere heart your prayer will be answered. You will also know that when you read or study about the faith you will have a warm and calm feeling fill your breast. Continue to study and pray. Understanding will fill your mind and soul. But you must do it with sincerity. Show more Show less
