Hi I'm Amelia

I'm former ESL Teacher, a travelor, a wife, and a mother. I am a Mormon.

About Me

After I graduated University, I taught ESL in Korea for about 3 years. In that time I was able to travel to a few other countries. I love experiencing cultures first hand, and seeing how others live their day-to-day lives. I especially enjoy going to church in other countries, and seeing that we are truly a world wide church, that teaches the same docterine to everyone! After I came back to Canada, I met and married my husband. Now I'm a wife and mother, and my time is taken up mostly by those 2 roles! I try to help out in my community, and love to get out on dates with my sweetheart.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the LDS religion, but with anyone, there comes a time when you have to decide to go to church because YOU believe in it, rather than because your mom woke you up Sunday morning. That time for me came while I was in University. It being my first time away from home with no one waking me up and taking me to church, I actually stopped going. Gradually I noticed a difference in myself. I realized that my testimony in Jesus Christ and in His restored gospel was a strength and comfort that I was letting slip away. I returned to church and could feel and notice that I was becoming a better person because of my active membership in His church. I know that He lives, and I know that I have made sacred covenents so that I can live with Him again. And that is what I want; to return to His presence for eternity. That is why I do what I do and serve how I serve. That is my goal and my motivation.

How I live my faith

My kids are my walking testimony. Everyday I'm trying to teach them to love God, and to be more like Him. I am the leader of our church's women's organization, known as the Relief Society which blesses me with many oportunities to serve and to learn what having charity really means. Because we are a small unit, I also get to help out with our children's program, and teach Sunday school. I'm trying to acheive consistant daily scripture study and prayers, but there is definite room for improvement! I am also involved in creating an indoor play place for kids in our community to go and burn their endless energy during our long winter months.
