Hi I'm Lindsey

I love Mexican food, anything with pearls, all things Disney, and the fact that I'M A MORMON.

About Me

Hey there, my name is Lindsey:) I'm a college student and an aspiring nurse. I love the human body, and have studied cadavers. I've played the violin since the age of 5, and I love to sing and dance. I love to try new things- this past year for example I went skydiving and took flying trapeze lessons. I'm an extrovert- I love to have fun and make friends.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I grew up going to church every Sunday, and then youth group every Wednesday when I got a little older. I lived the values taught there for the most part- I didn't make any major mistakes, but I also wasn't as good as I could have been. It wasn't until I left home for college that I really found out for myself that this gospel is true. Living on my own, there was no one to tell me what to do, no parents to scold me for living contrary to the values I was taught at church. I was my own person, and for the first time I took a long hard look at myself- and I didn't like what I saw. I ached to be better. I had always wanted to be good, but for the first time my whole heart and soul were in it. I started doing things I hadn't before- I started reading my scriptures every night, and listening to conference talks while I got ready for class. For the first time I genuinely looked forward to my church meetings, and firesides became a personal favorite. I would listen carefully and take notes. I hungered for knowledge and truth. And for the first time, I really prayed- I talked and cried to my Father in Heaven, and went to Him often, offering gratitude and asking for guidance throughout the day. Now two short years later I am preparing to serve a mission, something I hadn't even desired to do before this experience. I couldn't be more thrilled with the opportunity I have to serve and show my love for the Lord. When I tell people I'm Mormon they often bring up the "long list of things I can't do"... I always correct them by explaining to them that it's not that I CAN'T, but that I WON'T. I'm a Mormon by choice. Although I was raised in this church, I can honestly say that I have chosen this way of life for myself. I love this gospel and the person that it has helped me to become. I know that by following the teachings and values of this gospel, I can reach my full potential.

How I live my faith

I'm a firm believer that simple, everyday things matter, so I try to be a little bit better everyday- I pray and read my scriptures daily. I look for people to serve whether in my home or my community. I strive to be honest in my words and actions. I try to show love and kindness towards everyone, no matter our differences. I believe that our little everyday actions are a strong indicator of who we are- so I try to make mine count!
