Hi I'm Michelle

I come from a family of eight. I left my career as an attorney to raise my three young children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in a family with six kids and parents who loved us. My dad built our house and spent the next 30 years finishing and remodeling it. This produced many opportunities for my siblings and I to help my parents with work projects around the house and learn the importance of work. After high school, I went to college at BYU where I earned math education and law degrees. I met my husband at BYU over an exploding bottle of pop at a Superbowl party. After we married, I worked a few years as the only female attorney in small lawfirm before "retiring" to become a mother. I am now a stay-at-home mom to three wonderful young children who keep me busy. I like to read the classics, sew, eat cookie dough and peanut butter M&M's, watch old movies, run, spend time with my family, and follow politics. I love my family and have enjoyed sharing my love of learning with my children as they are starting to enter the school system.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church. My parents and church leaders not only taught me about our Savior and His teachings, but they also taught me to pray and ask the Lord about the truthfulness of what I was learning. From a very young age, when I prayed and read my scripture, I felt a warm burning inside me that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a true church of God. Since then, I have never doubted the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. Every time I read this wonderful book, the Spirit reaffirms to me that it is a book of God. My life has been blessed, both spiritually and physically, because of the gospel in my life and because of my willingness to follow.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to keep the commandments of God each day. I'm far from perfect, but I try. I teach my children about Jesus Christ, how to pray, how to love one another, how to be honest, how to work hard, and how to be responsible. I try not to get too discouraged when they forget these lesson -- especially in the middle of their fighting (which happens a lot at our house). I play the piano for church and help plan activities for the 8&9 year old girls that will help them grow closer to our Savior.
