Hi I'm Trevor

I'm a family man and a soon to be accounting professor. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I had a blast while serving as an LDS missionary. To get through college, I worked as a high school sports official and a wildland firefighter. Although both jobs were extremely fun they increased my desire for a less intense work environment. I graduated from BYU with an accounting degree and worked at a local accounting firm. Shortly thereafter, I realized that my true career desires are to teach and research, so I am currently working on a Ph.D. in accounting. I enjoy playing games, solving puzzles, playing/watching sports, and being outdoors. Most importantly, I love spending time with my amazing wife and energetic children.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents have always been active members of the church, and I am grateful for their example. Although I was always taught that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord's church on the earth today, I still needed to obtain that confirmation for myself. I began reading the scriptures and learning more of the doctrine. It all seemed to make sense. As I read the scriptures I could relate them to my everyday experiences. Finally, a day came when I needed help and I said a prayer, putting my full faith and trust in the Lord. The Lord helped me and I knew wholeheartedly that all of it was true. Over the years my conviction has grown deeper and stronger. As I live the gospel I become a better person every day. I am so grateful to have the gospel bless my life and I strive to exemplify it teachings in all that I do. I love the Lord and I know that He loves all of us.

How I live my faith

I constantly look for ways in which I can improve my life and become more Christ-like. Service has always been an area of interest for me. The joy that comes as I help a person is indescribable. Reading the scriptures and praying every day have also been great tools in helping me become a better person. I am currently one of the leaders of the men in our ward. I do all that I can to teach them about the priesthood and being better husbands and fathers. In the end I have learned a lot from them as well. One of my favorite things to do is to work with the missionaries in our area. Meeting new people and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ extremely rewarding. Seeing the ways in which each person changes and how the Lord blesses them as they make righteous decisions is amazing. Working the young men (ages 12-18) in our church has been a great experience. Not too long ago I was in their same shoes, which makes it easy to relate to them while they are trying to figure out their place in the world and where they want to go in life. Getting to know them and being a righteous influence has been a great experience and makes me appreciate all those who helped me when I struggled.
