Hi I'm Lillian

I grew up in Utah. I just graduated college with a degree in English Literature. I hope to be a school librarian. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in Utah, and I have spent the last six years studying at a local university, and serving a mission in the Knoxville, Tennessee area. I just graduated with a degree in English Literature, and I plan on returning to school to become a certified school librarian.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because when I make the Gospel a part of my life, and do my best to keep the commandments and honor the promises I have made, I am able to be a more positive person, and to know that God is in control. With that knowledge, I am able to embrace the challenges that are and have been thrown my way, and learn from them. I am a member of this church because I have learned from the scriptures, and the beautiful world around me, that God wants us to know that he loves us, and it is by giving us the knowledge found in the Gospel that He shows us just how much He does love every single person on the Earth. We are never alone. He is ALWAYS there for us. I am a member of this church, because I know for myself that the doctrines of the gospel are true, and I do not know who I would be without them.

How I live my faith

The most obvious way in which I have lived my faith was the opportunity I had to serve as a missionary in the Tennessee Knoxville Mission, spending every moment of every day representing my Savior and helping people around me grow closer to Him. Now, I live my faith every day by incorporating my faith into my everyday life, by reading the scriptures, taking time to pray daily, and maintaining high moral standards and a positive attitude. I also have the opportunity to serve in my local congregation.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

There are an infinite number of things that tell me that there is a God, Our Heavenly Father, and that He loves all of His children. Some of the most comforting examples to me are the words of the scriptures, and being able to see the beauty of God's creations on the Earth around me. Above all, I know that there is a God because of the feelings of peace and joy I have received as I have turned my heart to Him, and prayed to Him each day. One of the most obvious things that tells me that there is a God, are sunsets. Each one is different, and each one is beautiful. God gave us Sunsets because He loves us and He wants us to be happy and have joy in our lives. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We believe the Bible is the Word of God. The Bible is sacred scripture that leads the people that read it to Christ. That is the purpose of all scripture. We also believe that God, Our Heavenly Father, can, and does communicate with His children today, through personal revelation to each person, and through the gift of additional scripture in The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ, The Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. God gave us these additional witnesses to help provide clarity about the doctrines of His gospel, and to provide continuing instruction for His children. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

God is the loving, all-powerful, all-knowing, Heavenly Father of every person on the Earth. He loves all of His children, and goal is to help all of His children return to live with Him after we die (see Moses 1:39). Show more Show less
