Hi I'm Marcie

I was born and raised in Brigham City, Ut, then graduated from USU in accounting. Now I'm a Texan and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was taught in my home to live the gospel from a very young age (as long as I can remember, in fact) and lived my whole life in Utah until recently when we relocated for my husband's job. I have been married for 12 years and have 4 children. Two boys and two girls. I love being a mom, and am one of the lucky ones that gets to stay home! It is not always easy and most days I work my tail off, but I wouldn't have in any other way. Following my college graduation, I worked outside the home for 5 years (full-time for 3.5 of the 5) and know how hard that is as well. One year after I had my last baby I was able to quite my job and stay home for the first time in my married life. It was a huge adjustment, but one of my most prize blessings. Now, when I have the time, I try to remember what I enjoy doing. I love to exercise and am kind of addicted... I tell people it is my happy pill and am a little off my game when I don't get my daily workout in. I do not, however, enjoy running/jogging! I mostly stick to pilates, yoga, and cycling. I also love to bake, especially for my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's true church that was restored again to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith. I have known this truth for as long as I can remember and often times take it for granted! I know these things to be true because the Holy Ghost has made them known unto me several times throughout my life. It seems like every so often I need a reminder of how blessed I am and how "rich" I am just because I am a member of the church and the Holy Ghost never misses the opportunity to remind me. The gospel blesses and enriches my life in so many ways and so many times that denying its truthfulness would be the same as betraying my very self.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying daily to be a disciple of Christ. He is, after all, perfect, and striving to following His example only brings me peace and happiness. My kids are, obviously, extremely important to me, and teaching the gospel in our home is one way I live my faith. We pray and read scripture together as a family, but one of the hardest things I strive to do on a daily basis is be a good example of faithful living. I have little eyes watching me constantly, and they do not miss a beat. They even "tell on" me to my husband when they witness a mistake... :) Kids! Another way I live my faith is serving in my ward. I serve as a ward missionary. I am not called to serve a full-time mission like the elder or sister missionaries, but I am assigned to specifically help in the ward missionary effort. In the church we believe that every member should be a missionary and part of my calling is to help teach members how to affectively share the gospel with those around them. Lately I have been teaching some newly baptized members of our ward in their homes. It has been very fun and rewarding! I love the spirit that accompanies missionary work. It truly is the Lord's work!
