Hi I'm Heather

I am a mother of 2 boys. I taught Biology for Jr. High students. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a Mother! I chase my boys around all day long. I love to be outdoors including bike riding and playing tennis. I enjoy the arts mostly stemming from dancing and singing all during my youth. I enjoy reading with my kids and spending time with my family. I also love reading, and am involved in my neighborhood book club.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? I was raised with good parents and strong moral values. I grew up being a Mormon. I remember feeling such a peaceful and happy feeling when I went to church, and most importantly when I prayed and studied the scriptures. As I have started my own family, hard times have come which really made me dig deep for answers. Answers about why I am here, what is my purpose, and is there really a God that knows and cares about me? A close family member was severely injured in a care accident about 2 years ago. As he stayed in the Intensive care unit, I couldn't help but think, "Why him?" "Why did this happen to us" As his life wavered back and forth, I knew that my belief in Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ was all we could depend on for help. We prayed. Hard. I prayed most sincerely as I possibly could. I prayed for strength, for help, and especially for a knowledge that whatever happened, we would know and feel that our brother would be taken care of. I searched the Book of Mormon. As I searched I would immediately feel peace. I became overwhelmed with the feeling of love from my Savior. I knew that he truly loved me, and most of all he loved our brother who was struggling for his life. I knew that it was this love that allowed Jesus Christ to die for our sins. I knew that it was His love that provided a plan that we could return and live with Him again, and this life wasn't the end. What comfort and joy that can bring in a time with where life seems so frail, and family seems more precious than ever. I was thankful for this answer to my prayers. As more trials will undoubtedly come my way, I know where to turn and where to receive answers. I know where to feel love, and most importantly, where to be truly happy.

How I live my faith

I participate in my faith by visiting other women in our neighborhood and by sincerely seeking out new friends. I try to find ways I can serve, uplift, or make someones day a little brighter to help bring more meaning and love in my life. I work with the cub scout boys helping them to work on their goals and qualifications they will need to later become eagle scouts.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Tithing is how the Lord funds His Church. It provides new temple and chapel construction, funds for the missionary program, education, and church materials. The Lord has given us everything we have, and only asks for us to pay 10%. Show more Show less
