Hi I'm Jake

I grew up in Utah. I love all type's of sports and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have recently finished going to high school. In high school I did basketball, football, and I pole vaulted. I love to mow the lawn and to swim. I have my mission call so I will not be going to college before I leave. I leave just after Thanksgiving.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the church and I am so grateful for that. I have always know that the church is true. I am a Mormon because of the hope that it gives me in my life. If I didn't have the gospel in my life I would be so lost and I wouldn't know why I was here or what my purpose in life would be. I see others that don't have the gospel in their lives and I see some of the mistakes that they are making because they don't have anything that they believe in. I have come to know that the church is true through diligently studying my scriptures and praying with a real intent to know if the church really is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that he translated The Book of Mormon and that The Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it is another testiment of Christ and his atoning sacrifice for us. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the true prophet here on the earth today and that if we listen to his councel that we will not be led astray. My testimony means so much to me because of the hope that it gives me and that I know why I am here and what I am supposed to do.

How I live my faith

In my ward I have been the leader of my age group. I would help plan activities, remind everyone of what we were doing that week and their assignments, take charge in meetings, and I would help the bishop where he needed it. I have been a hometeacher for four years. During those years I have been able to meet with six different families in the ward and the blessings that come from hometeaching are some of the best blessings you could ever recieve. I have also been involved with the stake youth organization for two years. During those years I would help plan activities for the youth in the stake such as dances and youth conference.
